On Wednesday 25 November, the Universitat Jaume I and the Sagunto Town Council organise the 2 Innovation UJI – Companies Event online, which is coordinated by Espaitec. In the Sagunto City Council Chamber, this event will be opened by the Mayor of Sagunto, Darío Moreno, and the Deputy Vice-Rector of Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneur, David Cabedo, before continuing online.

Once opened, the event will start with the speech “Towards knowledge transfer. Financing R&D&i projects with Company-University collaboration” by Ismael Rodrigo, Manager of the Cooperation Office for Technological Research and Development (OCIT – UJI). The event will continue by presenting a success case of Ampere Energy-Virtual Power Plant by Úrsula Pérez, Data Scientist from Ampere Energy, and Emilio Pérez, a member of the EEA (Electricity, Electronics and Automation) research group of the Universitat Jaume I (UJI).

Innovation and technology are key instruments to leave the present crisis behind. This is why UJI research groups and professionals from companies in Sagunto and its surrounding areas will meet during this event to respond to R&D&i challenges and joint collaboration options. The Managing Director of Espaitec and the Manager of the General UJI Foundation, Juan Antonio Bertolín, will introduce the methodology to follow in order to hold previously arranged virtual networking encounters and One to One meetings between UJI research groups and companies in a new format designed to adapt to today’s healthcare circumstances.

This event forms part of the project Knowledge Transfer Antennae, carried out by the General UJI Foundation, which is responsible for managing Espaitec, the Science and Technology Park of the UJI, and is financed by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) by means of an agreement signed by Science Parks from the Valencian Community to Boost Knowledge and Technology Transfer between University and companies, and to support Innovative Entrepreneurship.
