This event began with the speech given by Francisco Fernández Beltrán, Director of UJI’s Communication and Publications Service, by reviewing UJI’s role in relation to new technologies.

Then a round table was held which presented UJI´s infrastructures and initiatives relating to the creation of digital contents from the training, research and business sector perspective.

Roberto Arnau, Director of the Communication Laboratory (LABCOM) was the first to talk, and he offered a view of the academic offer for the audiovisual sector. Next Rubén García, Projects Manager of the New Imaging Technologies Institute (INIT), presented the institute and some research projects that are underway related with 3D images, virtual reality and augmented reality, or with multimedia services, among others.

Juan Antonio Bertolín, Head of Innovation and Projects at espaitec, closed this round table by speaking about the livinglab concept and how it is applied at the UJI. Through livinglab, the campus becomes an open experimental innovation setting in which the whole university community participates; that is, the innovation projects developed at the UJI by espaitec-linked companies, researchers and students which are tested on the same campus and can be extrapolated to cities in the future.

The second round table centred on presenting successful cases of digital and animation creation. This presentation was started by Ana Sanchis from the espaitec-linked company Ubik Geospatial Solutions, who considers that «it is the right time to create a technology-based company » and explained that this company, created only 10 months ago, is now working on projects like Smart Campus or Web 2.0 Broker, which allow data from various sources to be integrated. Then came the turn of Francisco Ramos from Emotional Apps . He insisted on the need to change «academic» mentality for «professional» mentality when it comes to dealing with a project.

Third came the Head of the UJI Degree in Designing and Developing Video Games, Miguel Chover, who spoke about the case of the Gamesonomy company, which offers a tool to allow video games to be created on a web page. Finally, Alfredo Cebrián from Cuatroochenta talked about «having to make full use of the competition between multidisciplinary teams to offer a distinguished product or service» and «having to refocus market models».

Finally, Paco Negre espaitec's CEO, ended with a speech on innovation applied to business and entrepreneurship
