Fifty years are a lifetime, but are an instant technologically speaking. The last half century has been a genuine revolution for people who have personally witnessed the greatest technological development in their homes of all times.

On this theme, the associations Infor and Games and HacksCS, with the help of Espaitec, the School of Technology and Experimental Sciences, and the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Computer Languages and Systems of the Universitat Jaume I (UJI), are organising this simple, but very interesting exhibition from several points of view.

It will be open to the public every Friday in January and February 2014, from 18.00h to 21.00h in classroom TD1007AO at the School of Technology and Experimental Sciences of the UJI. Visits for small groups can be also arranged at other times. This exhibition includes a collection of devices which have been in shops since the 1970s which any consumer could afford. It provides a vision of how humans perfected industry, its manufacturing tools, how aesthetic trends have evolved, etc.

Undoubtedly, it is a true reflection of our civilisation in the last half of the 20th century, and the first decade of this century is showing us what is to come, and extremely quickly. If you are interested in computers, video games, engineering, industrial design, history, and even psychology of society, you are sure to appreciate our exhibition. It will make you think, and may even touch you, take you back to your childhood, or you will discover technology that was around before you were born. Our purpose is to reflect from the past and imagine what the future will be.
