On Thursday 17 December at 09:00h, the Outcomes of the Espaitec Innovative Projects will be presented. During this event, the following projects will be presented: Technology Map of the Castellón Province, UJI.>LAB and Knowledge Transfer Antennae.
The Technology Map of the Castellón Province project has identified and made visible technology- and innovative-based firms in this province, and explored the possibilities of synergies and collaborations among them. One of the main objectives of this study is to geolocate, segment and point out technology-based firms. This project is constantly developing and evolving.
The UJI.>LAB project is essentially a creative project that came about given the need to design technology-based solutions to face the different challenges that society demands through mechanisms like Final Graduation and Final Master Projects. This project is linked with the LivingLab cooperative methodology (Quadruple Helix Frame: Industry, Government, University, Society), which encourages the European Network of LivingLabs (ENOLL), and Espaitec has formed part of its Managing Board since 2011.
UJI.>LAB has a FabLab whose main mission is to convert ideas into real prototypes to be used by society by seeking tangible solutions that can be developed in future start-ups. To this end, a large investment was made in last-generation machinery: 3D printer, Resin printer, Laser cutter, Cutting plotter, Precision CNC and Large-sized CNC.
The Knowledge Transfer Antennae project centred on putting professionals from Espaitec companies, and from the Sagunto and Vinaroz areas, into contact with Universitat Jaume I research groups during «face-to-face» sessions to explore collaboration possibilities. During these meetings, business challenges and problems were examined in these areas, among other: Integrated Agricultural pest Management, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Ceramics, Glass and Nanotechnology, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Waste Engineering, Electricity, Electronics and Automation, Refrigeration and Climatisation, Heat, Cold and Electricity Transfers, Multiphase Fluids, Solid-State Chemistry, Environmental and Occupational Hazards, Process Re-Engineering and Business Digitisation.
Phase 2 of these three innovative projects was carried out thanks to the collaboration and financing by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) in 2020 by means of the Collaboration Agreement reached between this institution and the General Universitat Jaume I Foundation to promote knowledge and technology transfer between the university and company, and to support innovative entrepreneurship. Phase 1 of these projects was financed by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) in 2019.
