In 2010, espaitec set up the e’livinglab Project in the Campus Riu Sec of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón (UJI). The objective was to convert the current campus into a Smart Campus, a place where technologically advanced products are made available to the University Community which, as an end user, becomes involved in each initiative by participating and generating information to improve society’s quality of life.
In 2013 the first project phase that centred on the Smart Campus finished, and then phases that start from the UJI Smart Campus will commence to reinforce the Smart City of Castellón, or to create a Smart Province by means of the e-rurallab concept.
