Espaitec’s UJI.>LAB Project sets up its own website at www.ujilab.uji.es to continue its objective to provide the university community with an ideal innovative environment to co-create.

The UJI.>LAB Project places at the Universitat Jaume I students, teaching staff and research groups’ disposal a platform to revitalise the generation of innovative ideas linked with the challenge-solution paradigm following a multidisciplinary strategy; i.e., with a 360º perspective. To do so, it incorporates a set of mechanisms that will allow the university community’s proposals to materialise; for instance FabLab, an environment for prototyping projects that result in a tangible product. To do so, it counts on state-of-the-art technology, such as 3D printers, resin printers, laser cutters, cutting plotters, precision CNC and large-sized CNC.

The UJI.>LAB platform will facilitate the implementation of co-creative projects; that is, projects whose designs include end users through their Final Graduation Projects (FGPs), Final Master Projects (FMPs) or other kinds of projects by including the most innovative methodologies encouraged by the European Network of LivingLabs (ENOLL), whose Board of Directors Espaitec has formed part of since 2011.

Setting up the UJI.>LAB project has been possible thanks to financing from the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) in its first phase in 2019, and the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) in the second phase, which started this year.
