Israel Mallén, a Journalism student at the UJI, presented one of the winning ideas. For a year he will receive free advice from espaitec to develop his idea, in addition to using the coworking spaces for free.
Reset Weekend Castellón 2016 It started on October 7 with the presentation of 20 business ideas by the participants. Of all of them, two were chosen in a tough selection given the quality of the proposals: one sports leisure application to connect people from the same area who want to practice a sport together, and a platform to promote the development of video games created in Spain.
Behind the sports application is Mariam Al-Rossi, a young woman from Castellón currently unemployed who wants to turn this project into a professional outlet. For two intense days, the Reset Weekend participants, led by the mentors, helped Mariam find the economic viability of her project, working to provide it with a corporate image, a marketing plan and developing the first steps of the technological part.
The same thing happened to Israel Mallén, a Journalism student at the UJI, with his idea of developing the first online platform to promote Spanish-made video games, an industry that has made great progress in Spain in recent years. He also received advice throughout the weekend, watching his project slowly take shape.
Now, once the event has passed, Israel will receive free support from espaitec to develop the business idea in depth, form a team, define the strategy and seek financing for a possible start-up. In addition, you can use the coworking area and common spaces of the Park.
To this end, the journalism student and the espaitec managing entity have already held a first meeting in which to establish the bases for future mentoring and discuss the requirements of the linking procedure to espaitec. The important thing now is to lower all the intensity of Reset Weekend to reality and define a short and medium-term work plan.
