The fourth edition of the social entrepreneurship program “UJI Emprèn OnSocial” has added a new project that will receive aid destined for the creation of a social startup.

The project Last goodbye, from the student of Finances i Comptabilitat Miguel Porcar, is incorporated as a guanyador in the social entrepreneurship program “UJI Emprèn OnSocial” together with the project Biocats which had already received awards in this edition. All two projects are two initiatives that have one objective generate a positive impact on society. Together with the sum of these two companies, they are the startups created under the sustainable business creation program since 2.

Cadascuna of the dues initiatives has rebutted an aid of 10.000 euros thanks to the agreement signed between the Universitat Jaume I and Banco Santanderthrough Santander Universities, to establish a company and continue developing and consolidating your business project. Last goodbye It is an initiative led by Miguel Porcar, student of the Grau de Finances i Comptabilitat de l'UJI. It is a platform, intended to help people in the hardest moment of life after the loss of a family member or friend, which brings together specialized psychologists and which includes a blog with information and videos for each person. Biocats: promoter of ecological cases

Biocats It is a project promoted by Maria Silvana Catasus, graduated in Technical Architecture from the Jaume I University. This initiative has the main objective of creating an urbanization of bioclimatic modular cases made with ecological materials for an urban area of ​​Castelló. The urbanization will include both common areas in which food can be grown and there will be leisure spaces for its residents. The target audience to which Biocats is directed are young people with environmental awareness.

The institutional entrepreneurship program of the Universitat Jaume I «UJI Emprèn OnSocial» (UEOS) is promoted jointly by the vice-rectors of students and social commitment and research and transfer, specifically through the INCREA Chair i of the General Foundation of the Universitat Jaume I, managing entity of Espaitec Scientific and Technological Park of the UJI and complies with the collaboration of SECOT Castelló.

Over the course of 5 editions, a total of 82 project entrepreneurs Promotions for UJI students, administration and service staff, teaching and research staff and SAUJI Alumni have continued to be selected to participate in the training and mentoring sessions of the program that is currently underway in the fifth edition.

The program, from its beginning to the present, has made possible the creation of many new companies committed to sustainability, the social and environmental impact of economic activity in the province of Castelló.
