The fourth edition of the social entrepreneurship program "UJI Emprèn OnSocial" has added a new project that will receive aid for the creation of a social startup
The project Last goodbye, from the Finance and Accounting student Miguel Porcar, joins as a winner in the social entrepreneurship program «UJI Emprèn OnSocial» next to the project Biocats which had already been awarded in this edition. Both projects are two initiatives that aim generate a positive impact on society. With the addition of these 2 companies, there are now eight startups created under the sustainable business creation program since 2018.
Each of the two initiatives has received an aid of 10.000 euros thanks to the agreement signed between the Universitat Jaume I and Banco Santanderthrough Santander Universities, to establish a company and continue developing and consolidating your business project. Both projects have had, in their development, the mentoring of SECOT Castellón and will be linked to Espaitec.
Last Goodbye: Platform to overcome grief
Last goodbye It is an initiative led by Miguel Porcar, student of the Finance and Accounting Degree at the UJI. It is a platform designed to help people in the hardest moment of their lives after the loss of a family member or friend, which brings together specialized psychologists and has a blog with information and videos to hire the best psychologist available. adapts to your needs.
Biocats: promoter of ecological houses
Biocats It is a project promoted by Maria Silvanna Catasus, graduated in Technical Architecture from the Universitat Jaume I. The main objective of this initiative is to create an urbanization of bioclimatic modular houses made with ecological materials for an urban area of Castellón. The urbanization will have common areas where it can grow food and have leisure spaces for its residents. The target audience that Biocats will target are young people with environmental awareness.

The institutional entrepreneurship program of the Universitat Jaume I "UJI Emprèn OnSocial" (UEOS) is promoted jointly by the vice-chancellors for students and social commitment and for research and transfer, specifically through the INCREA Chair and the General Foundation of the Universitat Jaume I, the managing entity of Espaitec, and has the collaboration of SECOT Castelló.
Throughout its 5 editions, a total of 82 entrepreneurial projects promoted by UJI students, administration and services staff, teaching and research staff and SAUJI Alumni have been selected to participate in the training and mentoring sessions of the program that is currently immersed in its fifth edition.
The program, from its beginnings to the present, has enabled the creation of eight new companies committed to sustainability, the social and environmental impact of economic activity in the province of Castellón.
“UJI Emprèn OnSocial” is carried out with the support of the Department of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society and Banco Santander, through Santander Universities.
