El social and technological entrepreneurship program of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló, UJI Empren OnSocial, The five-year edition has ended with the presentation of investors, mentors and trainers of the set projects that have turned out to be finalists. The program is coordinated vice-rector of Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination from the Jaume I University.
This fifth edition of the program will initiate 28 sustainable projects. After the training phases, the final proposals are candidates to become companies promoted by students, professors, teaching and research staff, administrative and service personnel and former students of the UJI.
During the opening of the project presentation act, which was carried out in hybrid format to guarantee representation at the national level, the vice-rector of Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination, David Cabedo, which has highlighted the strategic importance of the program for the UJI as a vehicle of transmission to the society of general coneixement at the university.
Furthermore, the director of Espaitec, Parc Científic i Tecnològic de l'UJI, Juan Antonio Bertolin, and the director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the UJI, Marisa Flor, have continued in charge of moderating the session, in which they also participated l'Associació Sèniors Espanyols per a la Cooperació Tècnica (SECOT Castelló) by the mitjà of his vice president, Vicente Nebot, which has highlighted the quality of the participating projects, the increase in entrepreneurial initiatives generated by the new edition, the effort made by the organization of the program to continue the training and the commitment of the students and professors participating to continue develop ideas that promote change in our society with the support of technology and innovation.
These are candidate ideas to become companies
The set of projects finalists of the fifth editionUJI Empren OnSocial, combine social commitment, innovation and technology to offer solutions applied to all the needs of our society. The projects may qualify for the call for aid for the creation of companies with the financial support of the Santander Bank, through Santander Universities, which will be called in 2022.
Assessment Quality: It is an innovation created by two psychologists who have devised a new evaluation process for typical test exams that allows for the digitalization of questions in a standardized way.
VirtualRunner: It is the first video game for fitness machines, it encourages sports practice using the power of attraction of video games interacting with mobile phones and Smart TV through advanced interaction with common devices such as Smartwatch or similar. This project provides great health benefits in preventing diseases such as diabetes, childhood obesity or heart disease, among others. The idea is that it follows a video game so that it can be used individually or played by both other players simultaneously.
Automatic Device for a Restaurant Autoservei: This project aims to create an automatic device that avoids bills and speeds up payment in self-service restaurants by preparing a ticket prior to passing through the box according to the triad options introduced in the program. But now it's hard to work on the prototype in order to carry out the validation tests.
FinTech for reputational risk management: These entrepreneurs have created a reputation management platform that will be focused on companies with both FinTech and banking businesses. The main idea is that any negative news is to generate a warning to the company so that they can assess the effect it may cause and whether it is necessary to take some kind of initiative.
Circular Earth: It manages the waste management of electrical and electronic devices through selective collection to separate components that can be used again and recycle those that cannot be returned to the production chain. The purpose of this future startup is to become a viable business option that is situated within the circular economy in the area of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
Retelier: It is a platform created to sort the millionaires gifts. Through this platform you will be able to find a unique, exclusive and quality gift considering premisses made easy for the user. Furthermore, thanks to retailers, gifts can be found in commercial stores or artisanal stores that make the experience of giving something more exclusive as a gift.
Digital Resilience and Alternative Energy Systems: It is a project idea that aims to avoid connectivity problems and provide alternatives to digital systems. The main idea is to market kits that avoid disconnection and device failures due to dependence on the electrical supply.
It should be noted that the UJI, with the support of the Conselleria d'Innovació, Universitats, Ciència i Societat Digital, it is currently working on the first edition of the program for the 2022-2023 academic year.
