The social and technological entrepreneurship program, promoted by the vice-rectors for Research and Transfer and for Students and Social Commitment of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló, has started its fifth edition with a total of 28 ideas promoted by the university community. These initiatives, which will be developed throughout the program, will be capable of being transformed into sustainable entrepreneurial projects that can go to market with the maximum guarantees.
UJI Emprèn OnSocial is organized jointly by the INCREA Chair of Innovation, Creativity and Learning and Espaitec, Scientific and Technological Park of the Universitat Jaume I, in collaboration with the SECOT association (Spanish Seniors for Technical Cooperation). An initiative that in its latest editions has become a reference program to undertake at the Universitat Jaume I. A total of 77 people have registered on the program's web platform to present social, technological or environmental ideas, making up a total of 28 eligible projects.
In this fifth edition, the training sessions will initially be carried out in online format although it is not ruled out, depending on the pandemic situation, that they may be carried out in hybrid mode (in-person and online). The duration of the program is ten months, from October 2021 to July 2022, and each of the projects will be assigned, throughout this time, a SECOT mentor who will help you materialize your idea and turn it into a sustainable initiative.
The program is divided into two phases. In the first phase (Put your idea to the test), Càtedra INCREA will focus its support on working and validating the idea, while in the second phase (Get ready to jump into the market and create a sustainable company)Espaitec will be in charge of maturing the project. In both phases there will be the participation of professors and expert professionals, who will delve into topics as diverse as the design of a minimum viable product and the business model that allows it to be put on the market, the validation and interaction processes, the presentation of the project, legal issues, entrepreneur skills, tools for daily work, co-creation methods and economic plans or financing issues for the entrepreneurship.
Among the projects that have been selected for the program are, among others, technological solutions to avoid queues at self-services, recycling plants in underdeveloped countries, evaluation software for tests, online reservation platform, promotion of sports through applications 3D or companies that promote awareness and prevention of types of violence.
All those projects that end with verified use of the program will obtain a diploma that will help them qualify for the official certificate in entrepreneurial skills and will have the possibility of participating in the call for aid for the best business initiative, organized by the UJI and Banco Santander.
