The vice-rectors for Student Affairs, Social Commitment, Research and Transfer of the Universitat Jaume I present the third edition of the "UJI Entrepreneurship OnSocial" programme, an institutional initiative whose objective is to promote social, environmental and technological entrepreneurship between the university community.

The program is organized jointly by the INCREA Chair and the Scientific, Technological and Business Park of the Universitat Jaume I (Espaitec) in collaboration with the SECOT association (Seniors Espanyols per a la Cooperació Tècnica). In the previous editions more than thirty projects have participated and, as a result, antic students of the UJI have created two start-ups who are facing the second phase of growth to Espaitec.

Jesús Lancis, vice-rector of Research and Transfer, underlines “the importance of the program as the transmission to the society of the general connection to the university. "With the creation of companies, based on the ideas that you propose in the socio-economic environment of the university, the talent of the UJI students is channeled into activities that respond to the needs of society."

On the other hand, Inmaculada Rodríguez, vice-rector of Students and Social Commitments, considers that “in this third edition the UJI consolidates its commitment to social and technological entrepreneurship. This program emphasizes the consideration of entrepreneurship as an instrument for humanity and the transformation of the society in which we live and values the role of students in this transformation..

As in previous editions, the program involves the collaboration of professionals and entrepreneurs, who are the ones who can best convey to the participants the process to follow to create a company that remains sustainable over time. Regarding the novelties of this edition, it is worth highlighting that the program is structured in two phases. In the first, "Repta la teua idea" the entrepreneurs will work on the competitive foundations of their respective initiatives and will build a business model in which they will specify the value proposition and the main characteristics of their competitive advantage. In the second phase, "Preparation to enter the market" is to define the framework necessary to prepare the business initiative to enter the market and to design a sustainable social enterprise in the future. Furthermore, in this second phase, the mentoring task carried out by SECOT members is reinforced with the incorporation of companies and professionals.

Places to participate in UJI Emprèn On Social are limited to 25 and the selected people, in addition to training and mentoring sessions, will be able to access a subsidy of 10.000 euros to create the company.

Members of the university community (current UJI students or those who have completed their studies in the five darrers, teaching and research staff and administrative and serving staff) can participate in the program, individually or per teams present a potentially innovative business idea, which is not constituted as a commercial company and seeks the solution of a problem, is identified by the team, or responds to one of the replies raised on the program website. It should be noted that when selecting projects, factors such as the degree of innovation of the project, its social character and, especially, the potential commitment of work in the project by the promoter team will be considered.

People interested in participating can register by the end of October 18 through the platform http://ujiempren-onsocial.uji.es/, it is also possible to find more detailed information about the program.
