The Murcia Region 1-1-2 Emergency Center will integrate a new technological platform throughout this year, which will provide more effective support for the management and coordination of all the services involved in an emergency.
The aim is to extend the use of geographic information management tools for the exact location of the emergency and the application of computer systems in the automated management of emergency calls. The main novelty of the system, called ECHO, is the incorporation of a tool that will allow operators to identify the exact location of the person requesting the intervention of emergency services at any point in the Region.
Coordination between the organizations and agencies participating in incident response is another aspect that will improve the ECHO platform. To do this, it will transfer the information in real time and automatically to the emergency and security services of the different Public Administrations, in order to establish an adequate organizational device to deal with the event.
Thus, participation and coordination between 1-1-2, the Local Police, the Civil Guard, the National Police and the Military Emergency Unit, among others, will be promoted to maximize operational efficiency.
This system was presented by directors of Tissat, the company responsible for the next four years of managing the technical and operational platform of the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center, during a meeting held with the head of the Ministry of the Presidency.
Today, the Tissat company has a staff of 115 people dedicated to the area of Emergencies and Public Safety, of which 75 are in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, from where the research, development and innovation of the company in matters of emergencies.
