The Science Park Leganés Tecnológico (Carlos III University of Madrid) yesterday hosted the workshop “Innovation Financing for Non-Financials” organized by the Madrid entity, the Association of Scientific and Technological Parks of Spain (APT) and the Scientific, Technological and Business Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón (espaitec), with the aim of preparing the technicians of the managing entities of the parks so that they can offer more complete advice on financing to their companies.
The APTE Technical Network is made up of professionals who work in the managing entities of the Association's parks in operation and who are dedicated to promoting the transfer of technology between the entities of their parks and offering them a wide range of information and advice on various subjects.
One of the activities that APTE has included in its annual management plan has been training in R&D&I management for this Network of technicians. The first subject to be taught was financing for non-financiers through this workshop prepared by the president of the APTE Financing Commission, Francisco Negre.
APTE collaborates and organizes this type of workshops as a training mechanism for human resources linked to the development of innovative processes, seeking to increase the capacity of the park management entities in the financial advice of the more than 6000 companies located in the whole of science and technology parks members of the association, especially in mechanisms for access to private financing resources.
The workshop, held in the Leganés Technological Science Park, was organized in collaboration with espaitec, Scientific, Technological and Business Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón and had the participation of more than thirty technicians from the APTE Network from of the entire Spanish geography. Paco Negre, CEO of espaitec, started the day with a brief theoretical session on basic financing concepts and Ana Neira from the Innovation Promotion Department of the CDTI made a quick presentation of the existing public financing instruments to give way to a practical part initiated by Rodolfo Carpintier, President of Digital Assets Deployment, who introduced the investor's vision in private financing processes. Next, Ferran Moreno from Atom gave a review of the different existing financing sources and their importance in the company's financial strategy. To end the morning and after knowing the investor's vision, Sergi Audivert as Co-Founder and CEO of AB-Biotics offered the vision of the entrepreneur. Your company is a case of a potential project that, after going through several investment processes, has been listed on the Alternative Stock Market (MAB), and currently part of its growth strategy is based on the purchase of companies through the exchange of shares.
In the afternoon the workshop continued with new financing instruments. Ramón Saltor presented the platform The Crowd Angel designed so that investors from all over the world can invest online in a selection of startups ready for investment. Héctor Moreno, for his part, presented InvestME, a new social network that starting this summer will put talented young people in search of financing in contact with investors in search of projects of interest.
Subsequently, the investment process was entered into in detail. First of all Peter BisbalDirector of CVBan, discovered the keys to a good sales notebook, that is, how to present a business project to a potential investor. To conclude the workshop, Juan Perez, Director-General of La Salle, explained the investment process in all its phases: pre-investment, investment and post-investment.
