SemanticBots, spin-off of the Jaume I University, expert in artificial intelligence and big data systems, and company linked to Espaitec, Parc Científic i Tecnològic de l'UJI, has participated in the II International Congress of Accessibility in Tourist Destinations (DTI).
This Congress, TUR4all, wants to publicize the DTI model to address accessibility that is beneficial for residents and visitors. It is an online event dedicated to the exchange of knowledge on the management and promotion of accessibility between managers of tourist destinations in the Valencian Community, destinations of the Spanish DTI Network and international destinations. The objective of this event is to generate and share knowledge that inspires and offers tools to advance the implementation of the accessibility of the territories.
The Congress is organized by Turismo Comunitat Valenciana - leader in the implementation of the DTI Model in Spain -, PREDIF - State Representative Platform for People with Physical and Organic Disabilities - and TUR4all. In addition, it has the collaboration of different associations, tourist destinations, speakers and national and international companies that work and promote good practices in the field of accessible tourism.
At this congress the project was presented “Assenyalem Els Ports”, a new inclusive chatbot, developed with the SayOBO platform, implemented for Turisme Morella and whose development has been possible thanks to the work carried out by the Red Cross and the financing of Obra Social by the la Caixa Foundation and the Morella City Council. This project could be started thanks to the connection that arises between the Red Cross and SemanticBots through the 'Technological Pairing' platform created by Espaitec.
Technological Pairing is an Espaitec initiative that facilitates the formulation of technological and innovative challenges by organizations in the province of Castellón. These challenges are resolved by multidisciplinary solutions provided by companies located in science and technology parks in Spain.
SemanticBots offered its experience and knowledge to address the social and technological challenge that the Red Cross had posed on the platform. The company also wants to promote the use of artificial intelligence to support municipalities in rural environments by facilitating their digitalization, for the benefit of tourists, citizens and local businessmen.
SemanticBots in his participation, has talked about inclusive tourist chatbots such as the projects he developed with his SayOBO platform for the destinations of Santa Pola and Vinarós in collaboration with Invattur, Turismo Comunitat Valenciana and the tourism departments of both municipalities. The company has shown the benefits that these chatbots provide to tourists with disabilities and older people. These benefits include easy accessibility to digital information in smart tourist destinations. and the value that these inclusive chatbots can provide to improve the tourist experience in the destination and its greater adaptation to the needs of tourists.
