SemanticBots, spin-off of the Universitat Jaume I, expert in artificial intelligence and big data systems, and company linked to Espaitec, Scientific and Technological Park of the UJI, has participated in the II International Congress of Accessibility in Destinations Tourism (DTI).
This Congress, TUR4all, aims to develop the DTI model to address accessibility that is beneficial for residents and visitors. It is an online event dedicated to the exchange of knowledge on the management and promotion of accessibility between managers of tourist destinations in the Valencian Community, destinations of the Spanish DTI Network and international destinations. The objective of this project is to generate and share knowledge that inspires and offers to advance in the implementation of the accessibility of territories.
The Congress is organized by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, leader in the implementation of the DTI Model in Spain, PREDIF -State Representative Platform of Persons with Physical and Organic Disabilities- and TUR4all. Furthermore, it involves the collaboration of different associations, tourist destinations, speakers and national and international companies that work and promote good practices in the field of accessible tourism.
At this congress the “Assenyalem Els Ports” project was presented, a new chatbot included, developed on the SayOBO platform, implemented by Turisme Morella and the development of which has remained possible thanks to the work carried out by Creu Roja and the financing of Social Work of the Fundació la Caixa and of the City Council of Morella. This project will be able to start thanks to the connection created between Creu Roja and SemanticBots through the 'Technological Pairing' platform created by Espaitec.
“Technological Pairing” is an Espaitec initiative that facilitates the formulation of technological and innovative ideas by the organizations of the province of Castelló. These reptes are solved by multidisciplinary solutions provided by companies located in scientific and technological parks of Spain.
SemanticBots will offer the best experience and knowledge to address the social and technological issues that Creu Roja had raised on the platform. The company aims to further enhance the use of artificial intelligence to help municipalities in rural environments facilitate digitalization, for the benefit of tourists, citizens and local businesses.
SemanticBots in the second participation, has spoken of the tourist chatbots even as the projects that will be developed with the new SayOBO platform for the destinations of Santa Pola and Vinaròs in collaboration with Invattur, Valencian Community Tourism and the tourism departments of all two municipalities. The company has shown the benefits that these chatbots provide to tourists with disabilities and elderly people. These benefits include easy access to digital information about smart tourist destinations. and the value that these chatbots can even contribute to improve the tourist experience in the destination and the better adaptation to the needs of tourists.
