SECOT Castellón, an entity of the #FamiliaEspaitec, has supported the creation of 239 companies and 302 new jobs in the province during the last five years.

In 2025, the advisory work of mentors SECOT Castellón Support for entrepreneurs has led to the creation of 52 new businesses and 59 jobs in the province of Castellón. Most of these are small businesses with one or two employees, operating in sectors such as retail, hospitality, leisure, healthcare, education and training, tourism, fashion, and logistics.

Young entrepreneurial person and predominance of women

In 2025, SECOT Castellón's mentors provided a total of 261 consultations entirely on a pro bono basis, representing a 27% increase compared to 2024. The typical entrepreneur who sought the organization's services in 2025 was a young person between 18 and 35 years old, accounting for almost half (49%) of the consultations. Among those advised, there were more women (55%) than men (45%), and the majority were Spanish (70%), although there was a notable increase in entrepreneurs from Latin American countries, who now represent 16% of the total.

In terms of sectors, the entrepreneurs advised by the mentors of SECOT Castellón plan to open their businesses mainly in the retail (11%) and hospitality (7%) sectors, but also in others as diverse as health, leisure, education and training, construction, tourism, agriculture, fashion, automotive, consulting or culture.

Boosting the business fabric

In the past year, the 32 advisors of SECOT Castellón, in addition to providing individual mentoring, have actively promoted and developed the program Ruralitza't of the Territorial Pact for the Occupation of the Plana Baixa. They have also participated and collaborated in Move Up, UJIStartup, Benicàssim Activa, Castellón Global Program, as well as in Caixa Rural l'Alcora Entrepreneurs Contest and in Fem FuturAll these actions, as the president of the entity, Juan José Montoro, emphasizes, have contributed directly to "the revitalization of the business fabric and the strengthening of economic initiatives linked to the territory."
