At the annual meeting of the rePCV, the directors and representatives of the entity elected Juan Antonio Bertolín, director of Espaitec, as president, replacing David Cabedo, current vice-rector for Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló
On July 13, the annual meeting of the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) at the Espaitec facilities. Directors and representatives of the five science parks linked to Valencian public universities (Espaitec, Scientific and Technological Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló, Scientific Park of the University of Valencia, Polytechnic City of Innovation of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Scientific Park of the University of Alicante, Scientific Park of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche) met in the Castellón capital to elect a new president, present the entity's 2021 Accounts, address the situation of the activities carried out by the different managers and reflect on the projects planned to be developed in the next year.
In relation to the organizational structure of the rePCV, during the meeting The Board of Directors was renewed, whose presidency continues for the second year in the scientific park of the Universitat Jaume I. The position of president of the network is held from now on by Juan Antonio Bertolín, Manager General Foundation of the Jaume I University and director of Espaitec, during the period 2022-2023, replacing david cabedo, current vice-rector for Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination of the Universitat Jaume I. Juan José Borrás, director of the Science Park of the University of Valencia, continues as vice-president; and the director and manager of the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche will continue to act as secretary, Tonia Salinas. On the other hand, they complete the rePCV board, as members, Juan Vicente Capella, director and manager of the Polytechnic City of Innovation, Scientific Park of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and Esteban Pelayo, director of the Science Park of the University of Alicante.
At the annual meeting, and following the visit of the Autonomous Secretary of Universities, Carmen Beviá, to each of the parks that are part of the rePCV, the new projects that the managing entities will present to upcoming calls were also discussed, always from a focus on dynamization, promotion and dissemination of innovation generated in the corresponding innovative ecosystems. On the other hand, the convergence of the projects carried out with the support of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI), as is the case of Innotransfer, a crucial initiative to enhance the relationship between the business sector and knowledge-generating institutions, especially universities, and improve the competitiveness of companies, even more so, in the current economic and social situation.
rePCV with Inndromeda and OSCIV
It should be noted that each park has launched various projects, in their respective territories, to facilitate the incorporation of innovation into products and services in the Valencian business ecosystem, which are resulting in the georeference of the Valencian region, compared to others, in the R&D&i aspects. An example is the incorporation of the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) to Inndromeda, the alliance between the competence centers and the business fabric, in which the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV), the centers of Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in the Valencian Community, the Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencian Community (REDIT) and its eleven associated centers, the universities and the Valencian generalitat.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of the Industrial Symbiosis Observatory of the Valencian Community (OSICV), project promoted by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) for the promotion and development of industrial symbiosis solutions between Valencian companies, to which the rePCV has recently joined. The initiative was presented by the head of Foreign Relations of IVACE, Jordi Sebastià.

La Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) brings together the five science parks of the Valencian public universities: Espaitec, Scientific and Technological Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló, Scientific Park of the University of Valencia, Polytechnic City of Innovation of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Scientific Park of the University of Alicante, Universitas Miguel Hernández de Elche Foundation. Between them they form a ecosystem of more than 250 companies installed in or linked to the five Valencian science parks, characterized by being based on knowledge and their commitment to collaboration with university research.
The rePCV aims to be an instrument for promote the competitiveness of companies and knowledge-generating institutions installed in or associated with science parks, promoting the diversification and growth of a new business and industrial fabric, quality, differentiated and committed to social responsibility policies. All this through continuous collaboration between the five members of the entity to increase the wealth of the region and promote the culture of innovation.
