The event will take place this Friday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m., in a hybrid format, an initiative framed in the "Technological Map of the Province of Castellón" project that has the support of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI)
Espaitec, Scientific and Technological Park of the Universitat Jaume I, organizes this Friday, November 2, the conference "Present and future of Quantum Computing", linked to the actions developed in the project "Technological Map of the Province of Castellón", in hybrid format, online and in person, from the Multipurpose Espaitec 2 room. Renowned experts and professionals in the field will participate, such as Alfonso Rubio, president of barcelonaqbit-bqb and general coordinator of the AMETIC Quantum Technologies Group; Mariano Caruso, R&D manager of the FIDESOL Free Software R&D Foundation; José Camacho, Iberia Big Data & Security Division, HPC & Quantum Director of Atos Spain, and Carlos García, research director of DAS Photonics.
Quantum computing, after decades of essentially theoretical advances, has begun to see what appear to be its first practical applications in recent years. In 2019, Google claimed to have reached the call quantum supremacy, the first successful execution of an unapproachable calculation for the best of classical supercomputers. In the following months, other similar milestones were announced. But what is this form of computing and why is it so difficult to put into practice? Are all his promises true? What is the true meaning of the progress achieved so far? During the session these will be some of the issues that will be presented and debated.
To attend the session, which will be held in hybrid format, in person from the Espaitec 2 Multipurpose Room and virtually through the Zoom platform from 10.00:14.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m., the registration prior is mandatory.
