About the GEM Report
GEM has been established since its inception as a research observatory of the entrepreneurial phenomenon with an international vocation. Since 1999, it has developed its activity in global, national, regional and local reports thanks to the participation of the researchers that comprise it. In Spain, the project is disaggregated into a “Region Network” made up of various research groups, which prepare specific reports about entrepreneurial activity in their closest environment.
At an autonomous level, the GEM team is made up of professors and researchers from the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) who have been developing an annual report for 18 years that provides an evolving perspective on the values, perceptions and entrepreneurial skills of the active population; entrepreneurial activity and its characteristics; and the context in which the entrepreneurial process develops.
