The project Know your city developed by technology-based company UBIK of the Scientific, Technological and Business Park of the Universitat Jaume I, Espaitec, has been selected among the eleven best in Europe in the first edition of the innovative applications contest MyGEOSS promoted by the European Commission and the Joint Research Center. The interest aroused by the application has led to it being presented at the twelfth plenary session of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO-XII) held on Tuesday, November 10 in Mexico.

La Know your city app It collects data from different open sources in the European Union and generates intuitive visualizations for the general public. Through a friendly mobile web application, citizens can access social, economic and environmental indicators of interest about a specific city. At the same time, the application collects, through a series of questions of the form "Did you know that...?", information provided by citizens about their knowledge and perception of these indicators and their evolution over time. Carlos Granell, member of UBIK, presented the application in Mexico, receiving an excellent reception from the participating experts.

The technology-based company UBIK aims to cover a market niche with great future projection such as geospatial technologies, highlighting the knowledge and technology developed over more than 15 years of work by the GEOTEC research group ( Geospatial Technologies Research Group) of the UJI.
