El Menador Espai Cultural will host on Monday, December 17, 2018, at 19 p.m., a day of reflection on the benefits of establishing greater dialogue between innovative companies and society to move towards innovation that responds to the needs, values and expectations of citizens. This conference closes the project "Towards responsible innovation: science parks as an engine of change."
david cabedo, deputy vice-rector for transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship of the UJI, and Domingo García Marzá, professor of Ethics at the UJI, will inaugurate the day. Next, Raúl Tabarés will give the conference «Irresponsible innovations? Ethics and values in technological development. Raúl is a researcher Tecnalia Research & Innovation, a technological research and development center located in San Sebastián and a benchmark in Europe, where it carries out its research activity in the area of Innovation Strategies, in various international, national and regional projects.
After the conference, a round table will be held in which the progress towards responsible research in science parks will be addressed, based on the case of Espaitec as an applied experience. The discussion will include the participation of Juan Antonio Bertolín, management director of Espaitec, Elsa González, professor of Ethics at the UJI and the innovative entrepreneurs participating in the project Hugo A. Ferrer, CEO at SemanticBots, and David Hernández, head of communications at Cuatroochenta.
The project has the support of the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana and has been developed by Vice-rector for Research and Transfer of the Universitat Jaume I, through the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit. Its objective is to promote responsible research and innovation (RRI) in Espaitec and, from there, extend it to the rest of the Valencian innovation ecosystem.
