La Universitat Jaume I has opened the call for the IV edition of the “5UCV Startup” contest, an initiative of the Universitat Jaume I framed within the “Innovative Entrepreneur Campus” program of the Department of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Work of the Generalitat Valenciana with the which aims to promote entrepreneurial talent on the campuses of the five Valencian public universities.
The UJI, through the INCREA Chair and together with the Vice-Rectorate for Students, Employment and Educational Innovation, organizes this fourth edition of the competition, which aims to reward the best entrepreneurial initiatives and business careers in the Valencian Community. Furthermore, it aims to contribute to the development of companies created in the Valencian university system and strengthen University-Business relations. The contest includes two modalities:
“Startup” category, endowed with 16.500 euros in prizes. Any SME with a Valencian headquarters, latent commercial activity and that has been between one and four years old can participate in this modality. Companies with a commercial corporate form and companies without their own legal personality such as communities of property, civil companies and individual entrepreneurs may also be presented.
Category, “Junior Startup”, is aimed at the youngest and will be awarded with 3.750 euros divided among five prizes. Any entrepreneur with a business project that is not constituted as a company and in which at least one of the team members is a student, graduate or graduate of the UJI may apply. Those companies established at headquarters in the Valencian Community with a maximum of one year of experience and that, at least one of the founding partners is a student, graduate or graduate of the UJI, may also participate.
