The Teleco Honoris Causa award received by Paco Negre in the 2016th edition of the “Valencian Telecommunications Awards and Night XNUMX” distinguishes a personality at the national level who, without being a Telecommunications Engineer, has stood out in his professional career for the promotion of Telecommunications Engineering.

The award, chosen directly by the Awards Organizing Committee, recognizes Paco Negre's professional career in promoting an essential sector in the Valencian society and economy. A promotion that he holds as General Director of espaitec, president of the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) and President of the Financing Commission of the Association of Scientific and Technological Parks of Spain (APTE), among other positions.

As Paco stated in his acceptance speech, “a modern society cannot be understood without adequate communications infrastructure and services at a competitive cost, especially if we take into account a recent study presented by Accentur that predicts that by 2020 the sector will reach to represent 22% of the Spanish GDP”
