The General Meeting of SECOT Castellón has re-elected Juan José Montoro as president of the entity, made up of professionals with extensive experience who share their knowledge altruistically to guide entrepreneurs in the development of their projects.

The re-elected president of SECOT Castellón, who is also part of the National Board of Directors of SECOT, has highlighted the important work carried out in the last two years. During this time, the entity has significantly expanded its scope, both in the number of consultancies carried out and in the incorporation of new seniors who provide new knowledge and alternative points of view. This growth has been possible thanks to the implementation of a Strategic plan which has allowed us to diversify and improve our advisory services, combining face-to-face and online formats to better adapt to the needs of entrepreneurs. In addition, new support programs, incorporating more agile and effective tools and approaches. In this period, the association has also renewed its digital presence, with the launch of a New website and an active social media strategy, as well as strengthening its communication with the media to give greater visibility to its work. All of this has allowed it not only to reach more people, but also to consolidate a more diverse and specialized team of seniors, capable of offering more solid support to those who begin their journey in entrepreneurship.

New strategic plan

As short/medium term objectives, Montoro prioritizes the incorporation of new members to the entity, especially women, and the implementation in the interior of the province, in order to continue to cope with the increase in people who, either directly or through the different programs and projects in which SECOT Castellón collaborates, trust the entity to take their first steps in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. To this end, the president of SECOT Castellón has announced the launch of a new strategic plan for the next two years, the start of which will be presented at the entity's next convention that will take place at the end of February in Benicarló. In this sense, the new strategic plan will also contemplate the integration of people who have been advised by SECOT, allowing them to form part of the entity's structure and contribute both in the accompaniment of other seniors and in the training of new entrepreneurs. In addition, the SECOT Castellón's digital presence, promoting the web as a key channel for communicating entrepreneurial projects and strengthening the network of contacts. At the same time, work will be done to improve the internal training and updating of advisory methodologies, ensuring that support for entrepreneurs is adapted to the current needs and challenges of the business ecosystem.

208 people advised

The senior volunteers of SECOT Castellón, who celebrated the central event of their fifteenth anniversary in December, advised a total of 2024 people in 208 and promoted the creation of 34 companies. During the last 5 years, SECOT Castellón has directly collaborated in the creation of 201 companies and 267 jobs. The profile of the people advised in 2024 corresponds mainly to Women (64%), aged 18 to 45 (69%) and of Spanish nationality (75%). By economic sectors, the trade, hostelry y eating They are chosen by the people advised when planning and starting their future businesses. Also, through their own programs or in collaboration with the Universitat Jaume I, podcast and the BIC Castellón, not only the strengthening of these traditional businesses has been promoted, but also the development of more disruptive projects and startups.

Senior Volunteering

Currently, SECOT Castellón, whose headquarters are located in the Espaitec 1 building, has 36 advisors, a figure that has increased significantly in the last two years. These are senior volunteers, who contribute their knowledge and the value of their experience to the different projects and initiatives of the delegation. The profile of these 36 current SECOT Castellón advisors is very broad, as it includes businessmen, senior executives and senior experts who have held important responsibilities in different sectors and areas such as finance, ceramics, chemicals, tourism, medicine, communication, large infrastructures, international trade, administrative management or defense.
