Know the possibilities offered by technology, analyze processes in different production environments and acquire the skills to lead digital transformation in a company. That is the goal of the new Master in Digital Development Management (DDM), which the Universitat Jaume I, through the FUE-UJI, and the technology company Cuatroochenta promote jointly to respond to a growing demand for professional profiles in their environment and internationally. A degree from the university, which will be taught online from October 22, 2018 until July 2019, with a practical approach and with the participation of experienced senior management professionals and professors.
«The objective of the master is to train professionals in charge of directing the digital transformation in an organization under the parameters of the business, the client and the employees; a highly in-demand figure that does not currently exist in the labor market," explains Miguel Ángel Moliner, academic director of the DDM Master and professor of Marketing at the UJI, who also highlights that "Jaume I is a leading university in teaching and management research, as demonstrated by its inclusion in 2018 in the top 500 of the ARWU world ranking in Shanghai.
The co-founder and CEO of Cuatroochenta, Alfredo R. Cebrián, details that the profile of professional or student to whom this postgraduate training is directed "is a person passionate about technology and curious by nature, since their specialty will be identification and analysis." of technological opportunities and project management, without necessarily being an expert in any particular technology. Taking it will allow them to "know the schemes, basic architectures and technological trends that today occupy the agendas of company managers," adds the also professor of the master's degree, whose places are limited to 25 students.
A faculty with international experience
So that terms such as Big Data, artificial intelligence, fintech or blockchain have a practical application in the processes of an organization with measurable objectives, the master's degree will be taught in Spanish by experts with a long career in private companies. Among the faculty, Enrique Asiaín stands out, with more than 30 years of experience managing technological innovation projects in the banking and telecommunications sectors (Oracle, Microsystems, NCR); Adriana Molano, opinion leader in innovation in Colombia after directing projects in different Latin American countries; or David Gobert-Cézanne, dedicated since the last century to the research and application of technological trends in strategic environments such as the ceramic sector.
The online classes, which will be taught through the university's Virtual Classroom to offer students all the necessary materials (manuals, videos, streaming conferences, complementary activities and final test for each subject), will be completed with two master classes taught by the Chief Digital Officer of the newspaper El País, Noemí Ramírez, and the director of operations of Nexus Integra, a company specialized in industry 4.0, Salvador Herrando. Both will be offered in person in the auditorium of the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation (FUE-UJI).
Internships in reference collaborating companies
The Master in Digital Development Management, which includes the completion of a Master's Final Project with personalized tutoring, has the support of different international companies, which will offer students internships in their companies. Among them, the Eulen Group, Consum Supermarkets, the Spanish Society of Cardiology, Find 24 (the leading portal for classified ads in Central America) or the Panamanian insurance company Assa stand out.
