This program coordinated by Espaitec and Increa Chair, and which has the collaboration of SECOT Castellón, its main objective is to promote the creation of innovative companies and social impact among the university community. In the second edition of UJI Empren OnSocial 33 project registrations have been received, which represents an increase of 50% compared to the first edition. Of the total projects presented, 17 have been selected.

The purpose of most of the projects is to provide solutions to emerging challenges in society, such as: having drinking water in places where it is practically impossible to obtain it; use new technologies and 3D printing to solve everyday problems for people with reduced mobility; develop energy solutions that are powered by renewable energy; use music as a tool for social development; or produce solutions that help solve challenges related to pollution and mobility problems in cities.

The program started in November 2018 and will run until July 2019, when the finalist projects will be presented to qualify for two grants of €10.000 to create the company. Phases 1 and 2 of the program, coordinated by the Increa Chair, are aimed at those project promoters without prior training in entrepreneurship, 8 in total. In these first stages, we work on defining the market segment and quantifying its potential, identifying the problem or unmet need, defining the idea and testing its concept.

The third phase will begin in Espaitec in January and the fourth in April, in which the 17 selected projects will already participate. In them, the projects will work, together with expert professionals, on aspects related to the social “Canvas”, person-centered design, negotiation, key alliances and agreements, human resource planning, teamwork, empowerment and development of personal strengths to undertake, the preparation of an economic-financial plan, financing for social entrepreneurship and the legal and legal procedures for the creation of a company.

Most of the projects aim to donate solutions to emerging reptes of society, for example: making available drinking water in small towns where it is practically impossible to obtain it; use new technologies and 3D printing to solve everyday problems of people with reduced mobility; develop energy solutions that are powered by renewable energies; use music as a means of social development; or produce solutions that help resolve issues related to pollution and mobility problems in cities.

The program started in November 2018 and will be rolled out at the end of July 2019, when the final candidate projects will be presented to qualify for grants of €10.000 to create the company. Phases 1 and 2 of the program, coordinated by the Increasing Chair of Innovation, Creativity and Learning of the UJI, are aimed at those promoters of projects without prior training in entrepreneurship, 8 in total. In these first stages it is difficult to define the market segment and quantify its potential, identify the problem or unsatisfied need, define the idea and test the concept of the material.

In this month, the third phase will begin in Espaitec and in April the fourth, in which the 17 selected projects will participate. In them, the projects will work, at the expense of professional experts, aspects related to the social "Canvas", the design centered on the person, the negotiation, alliances clau and agreements, the planning of human resources, the work in equipment, the empowerment and development of personal assets for entrepreneurship, the elaboration of an economic and financial plan, financing for social entrepreneurship and the legal and juridical procedures for the creation of a company.

The program began in November 2018 and will continue until July 2019, when the short-listed candidate projects will be presented that can opt for two grants of €10,000 each to be used to create a company. Program Phases 1 and 2, coordinated by the Increa Chair, will address those project promoters with no former training in entrepreneurship, with eight in all. In January, Phase 3 will start at Espaitec, and Phase 4 will begin in April. The 17 selected projects will participate in these phases. In them, the projects will work along with expert professionals on aspects related to the social “Canvas”, design centered on the person, negotiation, key alliances and agreements, human resources planning, teamwork, empowerment, and development of personal strengths to carry out entrepreneurship, preparing the economic-financial plan, financing for social entrepreneurship and the legal/legal proceedings to set-up companies.
