The Scientific and Technological Park of the Jaume I University of Castellón (Espaitec) incorporates a new technology-based company specialized in blockchain, a technology that allows data to be stored in a distributed, immutable and secure manner capable of transforming the way in which companies and institutions manage their activity.
This type of technology can be applied in different ways in all types of sectors, although currently its main use is in traceability of products and industrial processes, such as tracing a chicken from birth until it reaches the final consumer. Its main advantage is that once the process is registered it cannot be modified or deleted and normally, although there are private blockchains, the data is public and can be verified by any other person.
A project promoted by graduates and students of the UJI
Formed by a group of 8 young computer scientists, 80% of whom have academic links with the Universitat Jaume I, the firm works with all types of companies. From technological projects focused on maximizing the use of properties and Blockchain technology, to companies that need common software development such as applications or websites, to complete advice for business digitalization projects.
The relationship of Arker Labs with Espaitec goes back years, as its founders previously worked in companies installed in the park. During this period they acquired experience and generated ideas that have given rise to this new business project. “We have been collaborating with the Blockchain community for years and we quickly saw that there was a business niche to take advantage of, so we decided to bet on it,” says Nelson Marco, DevOps at Arker Labs.
Reasons to be part of Espaitec
Their interest in being part of Espaitec focuses on providing their knowledge and experience to students who need advice or learning about new technologies, as well as establishing collaborations with all the companies in the park. Along these lines, Arker Labs will participate on Tuesday, September 10, in the “Blockchain, beyond cryptocurrencies” breakfast organized by the management of Espaitec. An event where topics of business interest are discussed with a double objective: on the one hand, to generate professional meeting points to promote business synergies; on the other, continually recycle the knowledge of Espaitec companies through reduced training sessions.
