La Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV), which includes the parks promoted by the five public universities of the Valencian Community, held a meeting this morning with the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI), with the purpose of establishing lines of collaboration in line with the programs to strengthen innovation promoted by the agency. Both institutions have agreed to establish a working group that in the coming weeks will define joint collaboration projects.

Representing the rePCV, the management director of the Scientific, Technological and Business Park of the Universitat Jaume I, Juan Antonio Bertolín, participated in this meeting; the director of the Science Park of the University of Valencia, Juan Antonio Raga; the director of the Science Park of the University of Alicante, Joaquín Marhuenda; the managing director of the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Tonia Salinas; Miguel Caballero representing the Polytechnic City of Innovation; as well as the manager of the Science Park, Fernando Zárraga.

Managed through foundations linked to the promoting universities, the Valencian science parks are home to dozens of research units, CSIC centers and more than 200 companies with intensive use of scientific knowledge, including 'spin off' of the academic institutions themselves. . The five science parks of the Community are also a hub for employment. Around 4.000 people currently work in its facilities, including researchers and professionals linked to an innovative business network.

The rePCV aims to be an instrument to promote the competitiveness of companies and knowledge-generating institutions installed or associated with science parks. In addition, it promotes the diversification and growth of a new business and industrial fabric, quality, differentiated and committed to social responsibility policies.

The Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV), which the parks of the five public universities in the Valencian Community form part of, met this morning with the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) to decide on collaboration lines in relation to the innovation reinforcement programs that the Agency promotes. The following people participated and represented the rePCV: Juan Antonio Bertolín, the Management Director of the Science, Technology and Business Park of the Universitat Jaume I; Juan Antonio Raga, the Director of the Science Park of the Universitat de València; Joaquín Marhuenda, the Director of the Science Park of the University of Alicante; Tonia Salinas, the Managing Director of the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche; Miguel Caballero on behalf of the Polytechnic City of Innovation, and Fernando Zárraga the Manager of the UPC Science Park.

Managed through the foundations linked to the promoting universities, the Valencian Science Parks house dozens of research units, CSIC (Spanish National Research Council) centers, and more than 200 companies that intensively use scientific knowledge, including the 'spin-offs' that come from these academic institutions. The five Science Parks of the Valencian Community are also a hub for employment. Currently, some 4,000 people work on their premises, including researchers and professionals linked to an innovation-based business fabric.

The rePCV aims to act as an instrument that encourages the competitiveness of the knowledge-generating companies and institutions set up in or associated with Science Parks. It also promotes the diversification and growth of a new quality business and industrial fabric that is distinguished and committed to social responsibility politics.

The rePCV is intended to be an instrument to promote the competitiveness of companies and institutions generating installed or associated connections with scientific parks. Furthermore, it promotes diversification and the creation of a new business and industrial teixit, of quality, differentiation and commitment to social responsibility policies.
