The companies Physio MRI Tech, MATCH biosystems and Soluciones Cuatroochenta have been awarded in this fourth edition of the awards

El Alicante Science Park (PCA) has hosted the Awards gala of the network of science parks of Valencian public universities. The assembly hall of the Research Institutes building of the University of Alicante (UA) has been the setting chosen to present these awards in a gala chaired by Mary Jesus Shepherd, vice-rector of Transfer, Innovation and Scientific Dissemination of the UA, Olivia Star, general secretary of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) y Esteban Pelayo, manager of Scientific Park of the University of Alicante and representative at this event of the Network of Valencian Science Parks (REPCV).

A jury made up of different professionals from each of the science parks in the network has been in charge of deciding the award-winning companies, from among the more than 30 that submitted their application in each of the three existing categories. The winners have been, in the category spin off, which sought to recognize companies promoted by Teaching and Research Personnel (PDI), doctors or doctoral students that have been created from the exploitation of research results and that are linked to any of the Valencian science parks, the company Physio MRI Tech SL, whose mission is to democratize access to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) tests worldwide and manufacture a high-quality and reliable MRI machine that is 95% cheaper than the current ones.

The prize in the cstart-up category, aimed at innovative companies promoted by students or alumni of any of the Valencian public universities, has gone to MATCH biosystems, an innovative in vitro diagnostic (IVD) company focused on the research, development and commercialization of a new generation of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices that are faster and more reliable than current solutions available.

Por último, la “Company-University Collaboration Award” category Aimed at companies that participate with any of the Valencian public universities in R&D programs and/or projects whose results have contributed to establishing a close and continued relationship of collaboration, it has been for Cuatroochenta Solutions, SA, a technology company specialized in developing and implementing digital cloud and cybersecurity solutions to improve the performance of organizations.

In addition to the three winning companies, each of the categories also had two second prizes, which went to: in the spin-off category newmanbrain, SL and Prosper Biotech, SL. In the start-up for EBHealth3, SL and Revoluz Energy Consulting, SL and in the company-university collaboration category for Orizon SA and TRL PlusSL

The awards gala also featured a presentation by the magazine's director and CEO Entrepreneurs, which analyzed the current situation of entrepreneurship and provided advice from different experts and entrepreneurs to have more opportunities for success when launching and growing a start-up or spin-off.

Esteban Pelayo, manager of the Alicante Science Park, host this year of the gala, was very satisfied with the development of the event. “The science parks of the Valencian public universities have become large ecosystems that house a significant number of innovative companies that are the spearhead of the transformation of the productive model of our Community. There is a lot of talent that our universities generate and that translates into the number of innovative companies that are created each year,” said Pelayo.
