Corning is a world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of specialty glass, with more than 160 years of experience researching and creating key components of this material for new advanced technology applications. The proposed collaboration is based on the development of a new concept of a negatoscope, the instrument used to observe and analyze medical x-rays. In this way, ActualMed would investigate the most appropriate communication software to integrate Corning crystals into the various medical devices to be installed, while the multinational would manufacture a crystal with optimal characteristics for the medical environment. Initially focusing on negatoscopes, both the crystals and the software developed could have a multitude of applications in various devices in the future.
