Juan José Ortiz, CEO of Inoibérica, has presented “Amazing City Castellón” the first app tourism gamification developed entirely with Spanish technology and which turns the tourist experience into an interactive game through mobile devices. The project has already been considered one of the most innovative in the Valencian Community and in this meeting its creators have shown the young UJI students the potential of this tool to attract and retain visitors.

The “Amazing City Castellón” app was launched last October and is available for both devices that run Android and iOS. Through it, tourists who travel to the province of Castellón can make their visits as if they were part of a game, in which they experience adventures of different themes and interests, as well as opt for prizes from the hospitality and restaurant sector linked to the project.

The company Inoibérica explains that the product is a combination of technological and artistic elements, in which the game experience becomes a determining factor for the visitor to enjoy the tourist attractions of the municipalities in a totally new way.

The application has been launched with more than a hundred adventures that take place throughout the province. At the moment, the Castellón Provincial Council, through the Provincial Tourist Board, and the City Councils of Benicàssim, Burriana, Onda, Almassora, Betxí, Cabanes, Benlloch, Montanejos, Ribesalbes, Morella, Villafranca del Cid and Lucena, have already hired the realization of interactive adventures in their municipalities as a tool for promotion and tourist loyalty. The company plans to expand the list of municipalities involved soon, especially given the upcoming presentation of the app at the Fitur 2015 Fair, scheduled for January next year.
