The third edition of the event, organized by Espaitec in collaboration with Diputació de Castelló, vindicates the presence of women in R&D&I companies

podcast, In collaboration with Castelló Provincial Council, celebrated this Tuesday the third edition of Innovatossals (Innovating with Tombatossals), a day aimed at executives from the province of Castellón where representatives of Oracle infrastructures , Acciona, Repsol y GSK They have shared the innovation strategies that their companies are developing. Furthermore, this third edition of the event is formed as a space for visibility of innovation experts who occupy managerial positions and, in this way, vindicate the presence of women in R&D&i companies, betting on a «Innovatossals in femení».

The day has been moderated by the journalist Marta Fullera and has had an inaugural table made up of Josephine Good, counselor of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, who has intervened virtually; Pau Ferrando, provincial deputy for Economic Promotion, Employment and Internationalization, and Eva Alcon, rector of the Universitat Jaume I

In this sense, the councilor He has indicated that "Meetings like Innovatossals serve as a technological and innovation connector between the university, the business community, the administration and society". In turn, the provincial deputy He stated that meetings like Innovatossals help promote innovation among companies in the province to increase their competitiveness and create synergies. 

Likewise, heto rector of the UJI has highlighted that the gender perspective with which this third edition of Innovatossals has been designed "It has the added value of helping to build female role models in a masculinized environment and this commitment is especially necessary to awaken vocations in STEM careers among girls and young women, or to encourage greater innovative entrepreneurship among women.".

Furthermore, Alcon has referred to the importance of visualizing the role of women in innovation and bringing closer their way of understanding and applying it. For this reason, he thanked the four speakers for their participation «the inspiration that his experience represents to awaken new vocations and, at the same time, to enhance creativity as a future strategy».

As for the participating firms, the first presentation was given by Mar Montalvo, Innovation Manager of Oracle infrastructures . During his intervention, Montalvo presented Oracle Labs y Industry Labs, two innovative tools launched in the company to develop new technologies and help other companies solve challenges. 

Next it was the turn of Gema Garcia, Director of TechBD, Corporate Venturing and Open Innovation at Repsol, who has defined the open and network innovation model carried out by the firm. In this sense, this methodology is based on the early detection of technologies; their validation and scaling; the acceleration of innovation cycles, and support for the transfer of knowledge to the entrepreneurship ecosystem. «In our research area, our scientists have been generating an innovative culture through programs such as IdeaAction», the speaker pointed out.

The day continued with the intervention of Sara Pedraz, Innovation Lead at GSK, where the speaker explained that «GSK's purpose is to unite science, technology and talent to advance the disease». «If we want to generate resilient companies that are capable of innovating, we have to be aware of the knowledge that is generated.", He said.

The cycle of presentations has ended with the intervention of Belen Linares, Innovation Director of Acciona, who has pointed out that his company has designed an innovation system made up of three agents: scientists, startups and partners. Likewise, Linares has added that, «"To be able to innovate effectively, we have to know how to integrate all the generations that make up the organization."

At the end of the conference panel it was opened a round table space in which speakers and participants have debated the issues discussed during the day. Juan Antonio Bertolin, director of podcast and president of the Network of Valencian Science Parks (repCV), closed the event, where he highlighted the relevance of the meeting to promote the culture of innovation among the business community of Castellón.
