The open innovation initiative closes 2022 with record figures in Innotransfer results with a high impact for the Valencian ecosystem
Innotransfer has managed to close four collaboration agreements in R+D+i projects between companies and research teams in the Valencian Community. Furthermore, the number of challenges, solutions and meetings promoted for this purpose by the Innotransfer platform have doubled compared to the previous year. Are 49 challenges received, 129 solutions submitted y 66 specific meetings managed between interested parties during the past year.
Thus, 2023 starts with a strengthened innovation network with 60 participating entities as providers of challenges/solution proposals. Among the participating actors of Innotransfer are 32 professional and business associations references in the Valencian Community, the Valencian public universities, technological institutes, institutions of the CSIC, health institutions and public organizations that promote innovation.
Open innovation in the Valencian Community
Innotransfer is the platform open innovation and collective management of the Valencian Community in which Valencian business associations, universities, technological institutes and research centers participate, a program coordinated by the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) with the support of the Valencian Agency for Innovation (AVI). The innovation and transfer initiative Innotransfer has become a benchmark for the Valencian innovation system.
Since its launch, at the end of 2019, this initiative that connects knowledge, technology and companies of the Valencian Community, has continued to promote cooperation between the scientific and industrial fields. To achieve this, it has the involvement of business associations, universities, technological institutes and Valencian research centers, which facilitate contact and knowledge through a challenge-solution dynamic.
This initiative is promoted by podcast, Scientific and Technological Park of the Jaume I University of Castelló, the Miguel Hernández University Science Park from Elche, the Polytechnic City of Innovation-Polytechnic University From Valencia, Scientific Park of the University of Valencia, as well as the Alicante Science Park.
Encourage collaboration
La rePCV has as priority to provide solutions to business technological challenges identified by the Specialized Strategic Innovation Committees (CEIEs) of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI). To promote both the resolution of these corporate challenges and their approach to the Valencian innovation ecosystem, they are organized, within the framework of the initiative Innotransfer, conferences and webinars on different business sectors.
Furthermore, to promote its development, Innotransfer has promoted its network of innovation agents, managers. These are linked to business associations, research centers, technological institutes and universities of the Valencian Community. Managers meet periodically at different locations to monitor the program, offer specific training, encourage interaction and promote networking among managers.
Specifically, in 2022 the initiative Innotransfer has had the support of 60 entities, among which are the region's science parks and other entities and companies that support the project. Also, a total of 95 managers that have facilitated the correct development of the initiative. During this edition, a total of 49 challenges from different groups and firms, and have been managed close to 129 innovative solutions. In addition, they have organized 66 meetings and around 15 events, and four new collaborations have been formalized.
Promote innovation
Just like multi-sector open innovation and collective management initiative, the ultimate goal of Innotransfer is based on drive innovation in key economic sectors of the Valencian Community, thus supporting its Regional Innovation and Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3). All this, promoting the transfer of knowledge and technology developed by science and technology parks to the Valencian business ecosystem in sectors such as Sustainable Habitat, the Agri-food, the Sustainable Mobility and Automotive, Enabling Technologies, the Health, Infrastructure and the Smart Tourism.
Furthermore, to continuously work on this objective of providing solutions to innovation challenges, Innotransfer maintains constant activity on its web platform www.innotransfer.org. In it, organizations can raise their innovation challenges, and research groups and business associations can respond with proposals aimed at solving these real problems through virtual spaces enabled on the web platform itself. In this way, open innovation is promoted in the key economic sectors of the Valencian Community.
2023 edition launch
Innotransfer started its first forum in January 2023, organized by the Alicante Science Park, reflecting on digital solutions for the optimization of water resources. These technical innovation forums and meetings will continue to incorporate innovations in format, dissemination and network of collaborators to reach more sectors and generate a greater socioeconomic impact in the Valencian Community.
The second Innotransfer forum of 2023 is dedicated to «Challenges and opportunities in the use of open data» and will be held on March 7.. The day is coordinated by the Polytechnic City of Innovation-Universitat Politècnica de València. People interested in participating can register on the website of Innotransfer. A week later, the March 15., an event dedicated to the «New technologies applied to the health sector» coordinated by the Science Park of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
