Espaitec organizes the event "Innotransfer: Challenges of decarbonization in the ceramic sector" on Thursday, June 16, in person and online format, aimed at the entire ceramic industry
podcast will celebrate the event Innotransfer dedicated to the field of decarbonization in the ceramic sector, destined to know the challenges facing the ceramic industry, some already identified by Specialized Strategic Innovation Committees (CEIE) of the AVI. The event will take place on Thursday, June 16, from 9.30:12.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. in person and online, it is organized by Espaitec, promoted by the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV), with the collaboration of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI).
The ceramic sector is aware that the recent European Climate Law, approved in 2021, has revealed the great importance of the reduction, elimination and neutralization of CO2 emissions so that Europe becomes the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. For this, it is necessary raise the levels of sustainability in our environment and offer innovative solutions so that the productive sectors can adapt appropriately. The project of Climate Change and Ecological Transition Law approved last April by the Generalitat Valenciana, which has been set as a goal reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40%, compared to the year 1990, before the end of this decade.
The ceramic industry, a great energy demander due to the high temperatures required in its kilns, has been improving its production processes for years to increase energy efficiency. However, it must make a qualitative leap in existing technologies to be able to meet the demands of new regulations. Therefore, this forum Innotransfer aims to define concrete development proposals with the main objective, from research, innovation and knowledge transfer, and to offer answers to each of the identified challenges.
The session will be opened by david cabedo, vice-rector of Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination of the Universitat Jaume I; next to Andrés García Reche, executive vice president of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI). They will participate as speakers Eliseo Monfort, member of the AVI Strategic Innovation Committee specialized in decarbonization; Victoria Zaera, Responsible for the Environment and Sustainability area of the Spanish Association of Ceramic Tile and Pavement Manufacturers (ASCER); Ana Mezquita, researcher at Institute of Ceramic Technology (ITC-AICE); Francisco Frabregat, researcher at the Advanced Energy and Materials Group (GAME), and Eva Barea, researcher at the Advanced Semiconductors Group (GAS), both of the research team INAM at the Jaume I University.
The day will end with the presentation of Gonzalo Abellan, distinguished researcher University of Valencia and founder of the company 2D-Match; next to Carolina Clausell company collaborator Agricultural Ecosystem Management (GEA). Juan A. Bertolin, Manager General Foundation of the Jaume I University and director of podcast; will close the event. At the end, a space for debate and interaction will be opened between the attendees.
INNOTRANSFER
Innotransfer is a multi-sector initiative of open innovation and collective management that aims to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology, developed by the scientific and technological parks of the Valencian Community, to the business ecosystem of our territory in key economic sectors such as Sustainable Habitat; Agri-food; Sustainable Mobility and Automotive; Enabling Technologies; Health; Infrastructures; and Smart Tourism.
The main business associations, the Valencian public universities and the network of REDIT Technological Institutes participate in the Innotransfer forum, which is funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI). This initiative aims to promote dialogue between researchers and companies in the Valencian Community through the catalytic action of the intermediate structures of the public-private research ecosystem and the Valencian business ecosystem.
