GEOLIT, a Science and Technology Park located in the province of Jaén, hosted the first APTE general assembly of 7 on March 8 and 2012, in which more than 40 representatives of the Association's member parks participated.

During the day, the four delegate commissions met – Governance, Financing, Internationalization and Technology Transfer – to discuss the main lines of work of the Association for this year. In addition, during the General Assembly, the Network of Technological Spaces of Andalusia (RETA) was admitted as a new member within the category of Collaborator, a category that begins with this entry. Collaborating members are those entities that have a project to implement a science and technology park or have a special interest in the promotion and development of these innovation and technology spaces, as is the case of RETA.

Likewise, during the Assembly, the topic of the next APTE International Conference was addressed, which is scheduled to be held between October 17 and 19 in Vitoria and which on this occasion will be organized by the Álava Technology Park. The tenth International Conference will revolve around the economy and sustainability as the main axis, and will be analyzed from three main pillars: mobility, energy and urban planning and sustainable construction.

Details about the programming and activities of the APTE International Conference will be discussed at the next APTE General Assembly, which will take place in Madrid on May 7 and 8, and will be organized by the Leganés Technological Science Park (Carlos III University of Madrid).
