The seniors will be part of the body of mentors of the new entrepreneurial program in the social and technological field that the UJI will launch this academic year
The first edition of «Mentoring course in new methodologies to support entrepreneurs» ended today in the Scientific and Technological Park of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón (Espaitec) with the diploma ceremony. An event that has had the participation of representatives of SECOT Castellón, David Cabedo as academic director of Espaitec and Paco Negre as teacher of the program and technical advisor of Espaitec.

This initiative aims to create a network of approved mentors who share methodology and monitor projects undertaken within the Universitat Jaume I. The action is part of the «Entrepreneurial program in the social and technological field» where SECOT Castellón members will act as mentors.
The course has been divided into three training modules. The initial one has been as an introduction and has served to outline the objectives of the course, the different types and styles of mentoring, as well as basic information, communication techniques and social innovation. In the second module, called stages, the different stages of mentoring have been discussed, subdivided into three chapters: foundations, validation and market, in which the essential topics that an entrepreneurial and innovative project must follow have been discussed. Finally, in the third module, we talked about the ecosystem with the different agents that make it up and their relationships and interactions, with special attention to the closest environment.
The dynamics of the course have been participatory workshop type, in which key topics have been discussed in depth, providing in most cases examples that complement and reinforce the theoretical concepts. The result of this first edition has been very satisfactory and the continuity of the action is to begin the mentoring process of the projects that are presented to the call for the entrepreneurial program that will be launched in the coming weeks. A second edition of the course is planned for next year, thus expanding the base of trained mentors that will be available.
This training action is included in the project «Promotion of entrepreneurial initiative at the Universitat Jaume de Castellón: actions to encourage the creation of new start-ups and spin-offs among the university community» funded by the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana.
