Under the title "Traveling without leaving a trace", the meeting explored how to transform the tourism model towards more responsible practices with the environment and territories
Espaitec has celebrated a new edition of “La Clau… de la Innovació”, a space for meeting and reflection that has focused on the challenges of current tourism under the title "Traveling without leaving a trace"The session brought together experts from the sector to explore ways towards tourism that is more respectful of the environment, communities and territories.
The meeting took place in Villa Elisa (Benicàssim) and has begun with the intervention of the artist Marina Marismawho created a live drawing inspired by the ideas that emerged during the debate. Prior to the panel discussion, several audiovisual pieces related to the topic were shown.
Journalist Andrea Jarque and the director of Espaitec, Juan Antonio Bertolin led the dialogue, which focused on the urgency of minimizing the environmental and social impact of travel, the conscious management of tourist destinations, and the role of innovation in redefining the sector.
They participated in the debate Xavier Pascuet, Regenerative Manager of Rhizome; Rosa Rodriguez, Director of University Institute of Tourism (IUTUR) from the Jaume I University; Eugeni Osácar, Director of the CETT Chair of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy from the University of Barcelona, and Alfonso Polvorinos, director of Elecoturista.com.
The importance of ecotourism and the regenerative tourism as real alternatives, as well as the need to forge alliances between tourists, businesses, administrations and local communities to build a model capable of generating value without exhausting resources or distorting the identity of places.
The event, organized with the support of Ministry of Education, Culture and UniversitiesIt concluded with a space for conversation between speakers and attendees.
