Espaitec has organized a new edition of “The Clau… of Innovation”, a day with a format inspired by the television program «The Key» by José Luis Balbín, which addresses current issues linked to innovation, technology and societal challenges through spaces for conversation and shared reflection from a 360° perspective. Specifically, in this sixth edition the impact of the new technologies. and digitalization in the mental health of the society.

The event began with a musical performance by rappers Zeta and Dela, who have offered an artistic perspective on the topics to be discussed, creating a reflective environment for those attending. Subsequently, a short documentary was screened to explore the effects of digitalization on mental health, providing an informative and visual framework, which served as a preamble to give way to the central debate of the event.

Journalist Julia Mesonero and the director of Espaitec, Juan Antonio Bertolin, have moderated the debate in which prominent professionals such as Abel Baquero, psychologist at Amigó Foundation; Rafael Mora, head of service of the Mental Health Area of ​​the Provincial Hospital of Castellón; Diego Hidalgo, sociologist and author of Off Manifesto, and Oliver Tauste, member of the National Police Corps and author of The Black Internet.

One of the central points of the debate has been the significant increase in problems of mental health among young people due to the excessive use of new technologies. In this sense, Baquero has stated that constant exposure to social networks and dependence on digital devices have generated a negative impact on the psychological well-being of adolescents. 

Regarding the initiatives that can be carried out to educate the population about the responsible use of technologies, Tauste has pointed out that it is essential to implement educational programs from an early age that include the development of digital skills and the promotion of healthy habits in the device use.

For his part, Hidalgo has explained the benefits that the digital disconnection, highlighting how this practice can significantly improve people's mental health and overall well-being.

Likewise, the importance of collaboration between health professionals has been emphasized. mental health and other experts. Mora has highlighted that this synergy is essential to comprehensively address the problems derived from the excessive use of technology.

The event, which has the collaboration of the Department of Education, Universities and Employment, concluded with an exchange of ideas and experiences between speakers and the public. Through this event, Espaitec positions itself as a reference in the dissemination of innovation and social well-being.
