Espaitec's innovative projects: Technological Map of the province of Castellón, UJI.>LAB and Innotransfer Hábitat Sostenible show their progress and results in 2021, initiatives that have the support of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI)

This morning the «Presentation of Results of Espaitec's Innovative Projects», an event that has been inaugurated by the general secretary of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI), Olivia Star, the deputy vice-rector for Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Universitat Jaume I, david cabedo, and the director of Espaitec, Juan A. Bertolin.

Estrella has highlighted "the work carried out by Valencian science parks during the last decade, consolidating themselves as fundamental elements for the connection between the business and university environment, being agents of the innovation system and providing support to both entrepreneurs and innovative and technology-based companies." . He has also added that "the five Valencian science parks contribute decisively to the transformation of the production model and the cohesion of the Valencian innovation system, aligned with the objectives pursued by the Valencian Innovation Agency."

For its part, Cabedo has highlighted "the importance of the support and trust of the Valencian Innovation Agency to the Valencian science parks to be able to offer the productive fabric the generation of knowledge that is generated in the Valencian public universities." Bertolin has stressed that "Espaitec's main objective is to be a connector (hub), combining talent and creating a connection between the innovative and technological ecosystem of the Universitat Jaume and the province of Castellón."

The first of the projects presented has been the «Technological Map of the province of Castellón» charge Susana Pérez, project technician, who during his presentation indicated that 295 technology companies in the province have been identified, of which 154 have finally participated in the project to date, which has a character of constant evolution and development. The project has made it possible to identify and give visibility to technological and innovative companies in the province, as well as explore the possibilities of synergies and collaborations between them. The project exhibition «UJI.>LAB», By Ester Peris, project technician, has begun with the presentation of the project UJI.>LAB Impuls, project led by the Office of Cooperation in Research and Technological Development (OCIT) from the UJI, in which Espaitec actively collaborates in the implementation of proof of concept projects. Next, the co-creative collaboration initiatives that are being promoted by the UJI.>LAB project have been highlighted. (Integrated Disability and Kimiobox). The project Integrated Disability is powered by Teresa Gallego y Raul Marin, both tenured professors at the Universitat Jaume I in the areas of Architecture and Computer Science respectively, and aims to facilitate procedures with the public administration for people with disabilities. The project Kimiobox It is led by health personnel from the pediatric unit of the Castellón General University Hospital, in collaboration with Lola Roca y Antonia Valero, an initiative that aims facilitate the length of stay in hospitals for children with cancer. Both projects are being developed with multidisciplinary teams from the Universitat Jaume I in different areas such as teaching staff, students, UJI services (Servei d'Esports and Infocampus) together with the collaboration of associations (Parkinson's Association of Castellón).

The project has finally been presented Innotransfer Sustainable Habitat, carried out by the project technician, Susana Pérez, has reviewed the three webinars held from June to November 2021, related to the energy transformation, smart houses and energy efficiency in homes. Innotransfer is a multi-sector open innovation and collective management initiative, led by the five Valencian science parks, which aims to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology, developed by the science and technology parks of the Valencian Community, to the business ecosystem of our territory. in key economic sectors such as Sustainable Habitat; Agri-food; Sustainable Mobility and Automotive; Enabling Technologies; Health; Infrastructure, and Smart Tourism.
