Espaitec organizes a hackathon of usability of digital products from companies in the Valencian Community on March 10, 11 and 12
El hackathon, Called UX Challenge, in virtual format due to the current health crisis, is an initiative developed under the European project H2020 200SMEChallenge, in which the Trentino Innovation Hub (HIT) y Fondazione Bruno Kessler from Italy, the Steinbeis-Europa Zentrum of Germany, the Dansk Design Center from Denmark, the Lithuanian Innovation Center from Lithuania, the Technopol of Estonia and the Business Oulu from Finland, entities that will launch their own usability hackathons with small and medium-sized companies in their area of influence.
To carry out this experience, of the more than 30 organizations from the Valencian Community that candidates presented themselves for the initiative, The European consortium selected eight candidates. In this first edition of UX Challenge which is done in podcast The selected candidates have been Pixel Engineering, TheJOKFUN, Direct Course, Waima Technologies, Bitcoinforme, Brainbond Computer Engineering, Resertours y FaytheConsulting.
On hackathon students from the Universitat Jaume I and students of technological cycles of the IES Caminàs of Castelló who will act as solvers (solvers) forming multidisciplinary teams. For three intense days, The different UX CHallenge teams will apply a variant of Google's Design Sprint methodology to analyze the degree of friendliness of the selected applications and will propose improvements to the usability of the eight selected digital products, paying attention to the design and ease of interaction with these products that will be validated by real users (testers).
The last day of hackathon The results obtained by each of the teams will be presented to the participating companies., as well as a final presentation of all the teams in which the three best work dynamics will be awarded through a virtual voting process. This entire process will be supervised by specialized mentors from SECOT Castellón that will help teams achieve the goal of the UX Challenge.
Espaitec, based on the lessons learned in this first edition, will continue with the organization of future usability hackathons to give the business community of the province of Castellón the opportunity to improve their digital products.
