The "PRISMA Update" session is an initiative promoted by Espaitec with the support of the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism
podcast has celebrated the day "PRISMA Update", a meeting that has brought together companies, entities and research groups with the aim of reviewing the disruptive technologies with the greatest potential impact identified throughout the nine editions of PRISMA.
PRISMA is the Technological Intelligence System powered by Espaitec, a A tool designed to anticipate technological evolution and facilitate strategic decision-making in highly uncertain environmentsThrough a structured methodology, PRISMA analyzes emerging trends along with international benchmark projects, evolution of strategic patents, state of the art in science and sector reports, offering a comprehensive view of the degree of maturity, foreseeable trajectory and real opportunities for transfer to the business fabric.
The focus of the day has allowed to contextualize their applicability in key productive sectors and to discuss these disruptive technologies in the Valencian Community along with its possible evolution in the short and medium term. PRISMA Update is thus born with the aim of strategic review: to compare, prioritize and activate conversations that allow technological monitoring to be transformed into concrete decisions.
Espaitec promotes the PRISMA report, its Technological Observatory, with the aim of strengthening the competitive positioning of companies in a context marked by technological acceleration and the constant transformation of markets. Through PRISMA Technological Intelligence SystemThe Park consolidates its role as a facilitating agent between scientific knowledge, technological development and business application, contributing to strengthening the innovative ecosystem of the Valencian Community.
The vice-rector for Innovation, Transfer and Scientific Dissemination, david cabedo, together with the director of Espaitec, Juan Antonio BertolinThey have inaugurated the event. Cabedo He highlighted that, in its role as a connector between local businesses and the University, Espaitec explores various avenues, such as PRISMA, which, by grouping projects by thematic areas, offers a perspective on research and innovation in the most disruptive technologies and knowledge. For its part, Bertolin He stated that "in an environment where information is abundant but time to decide is limited, the difference lies not in accessing data, but in interpreting it strategically. PRISMA is not a compilation of trends, it is an instrument to anticipate scenarios and guide decisions."
It was also announced that, in the next edition, PRISM 10A specific module will be incorporated Competitive IntelligenceThis analysis focuses on business positioning, the evolution of key players, and early market signals. "We believe this dimension is crucial for decision-making in terms of investment, diversification, and strategic anticipation. It's not enough to know the technology; it's necessary to understand who is positioning themselves and where the market is heading," he added. Bertolin.
The day began with the presentation of Enric EscorsaCEO IALE TechnologyEscorsa, a pioneering company in the field of Competitive Intelligence and Technological Surveillance in Spain and Latin America, and a collaborator in the publication of the PRISMA bulletin, gave an introduction on the most impactful and practical technological trends highlighted in the nine editions of Espaitec's technological surveillance report.
The session continued with the first block of presentations on Critical Digital Technologies, Involving Rafael Berlanga, director of the group Information and Communication Technologies (TKBG-UJI), David AguilellaDigital Transformation Technician at Sitra, and Noé VilarCISO & CTO at DQSThis space has presented the key aspects of disruptive technologies.Prompt engineering applied to industry, Digital twins in water management, and Cybersecurity applied to business environments respectively.
The day has progressed with the second block of presentations on Industry, Energy and Advanced Materials, with the speakers Sergio Andres, consultant in Orbel Group, Arnau CamposInnovation Technician in Valenciaport Foundation, Sergio Soler, CTO in Arkadia Space, and Encarna Blasco, researcher at the Institute of Ceramic Technology (ITC-AICE)During this session, the main characteristics of disruptive technologies have been presented.Advanced GPS for process automation, Port electrification and Logistics 4.0.; Aerospace technology for sustainable energy, and Advanced ceramic materials correspondingly.
Next, the third and final block of presentations on New Interactions, People and Society, with the intervention of Christian hernandez, technician of the Institute of New Image Technologies (INIT-UJI), and Emilio Saez, group researcher GAMERS-UJIwho have presented real-world examples of applications in Artificial intelligence for personalized health, Along the E-sports as a new channel of interaction respectively.
The day concluded Juan Antonio Bertolin Underlining that the true value of technological intelligence lies not only in identifying emerging innovations, but also in activating collaborations and concrete projects based on them, "PRISMA Update" marks the beginning of a new phase in which, over the next year, priority technologies will be explored in greater depth, creating more specialized spaces geared towards sectoral applications. Bertolin He stated that "the challenge is not to observe technological change, but to actively participate in it. PRISMA is evolving to transform surveillance into strategy, strategy into projects, and projects into impact."
Technology Observatory: PRISMA
Espaitec promotes its Technological Observatory with the aim of contributing to strengthening the competitive positioning of companies in an environment marked by constant transformation. This work is channeled through PRISMA, the Technological Intelligence System promoted by the Science and Technology Park of the Universitat Jaume I, which identifies, analyzes and interprets disruptive technological trends with potential impact on productive sectors and innovation processes.
From December 2022 to the present, nine editions of the PRISMA report on the most relevant technological trends have been carried out, the most recent publication being in December 2025 on semiconductor materials.
