This morning the «Presentation of Results of Espaitec's Innovative Projects». The event was inaugurated by the director of Espaitec, Parc Científic i Tecnològic de la Universitat Jaume I and manager of the General Foundation of the UJI as park manager, Juan A. Bertolin, who has highlighted that «These innovative projects are developed within the framework of Espaitec's agreement with the Valencian Innovation Agency to promote the economic development of the territory through innovation, transfer and entrepreneurship».
Next, the deputy general director of Innovation Programs of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI), Roberto Arnau, the day began by exposing the «AVI aid 2021». Arnau has highlighted that "We are on the eve of the resolution of the call for aid for 2021, and these are aimed at the connection and relationship projects of the different agents of the innovation ecosystem".
Espaitec Innovative Projects
The first of the projects presented has been the «Technological Map of the province of Castellón» in charge of Lidia Vidal, project technique. During the presentation it was highlighted that 473 companies in the province were contacted, of which 113 have finally participated in the project to date, which has a character of constant evolution and development. The project has made it possible to identify and give visibility to technological and innovative companies in the province, as well as explore the possibilities of synergies and collaborations between them. The presentation of the project «Knowledge Transfer Antennas», carried out by the project technician, MªJesús Gascón, has focused his presentation on the different initiatives that have been carried out during 2020 (I Innovation and Technology Conference: I Virtual Meeting; II UJI Innovation Conference-Sagunt and Vinaròs Companies; Innotransfer Sustainable Habitat; and I Conference to Promote the Creation of UJI Spin-Off). These initiatives have focused on facilitating contact between professionals from Espaitec companies and the areas of Sagunto and Vinaròs together with research groups from the Universitat Jaume I., through face-to-face sessions, in order to explore collaboration possibilities.
The project exhibition «UJI.>LAB», By Francisco Martinez, project technician, has begun with the presentation of the project website, www.ujilab.uji.es, to continue focusing on the different projects that have been developed within the framework of the UJI.>LAB project (Inclusive Athletics Project; Integrated Disability Project; and Kimiobox & Chemobox Project). These initiatives have multidisciplinary teams from the Universitat Jaume I in different areas such as teachers, students, UJI services (Servei d'Esports and Infocampus) together with the collaboration of associations (Parkinson's Association of Castellón). Highlight the contribution of Teresa Gallego, professor at the UJI and co-director of the «Integrated Disability Project» for his great involvement.
Phase 2 of these three innovative projects has been carried out thanks to the collaboration and financing of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) during the year 2020, through the Collaboration agreement between this institution and the General Foundation of the Jaume I University, to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology between universities and companies, and support innovative entrepreneurship. Phase 1 of these projects was financed in 2019 by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE).
