Espaitec has been awarded as the most active park in the Network of Technicians of the Association of Scientific and Technological Parks of Spain (APTE) during 2022 thanks to its constant involvement in the activities promoted by the entity
Within the framework of the XXI International Conference of the Association of Scientific and Technological Parks of Spain (APTE), held at the Scientific and Technological Park of Tenerife Tecnològica (PCTT), podcast has been recognized as the most active park in the Technical Network of the Association of Scientific and Technological Parks of Spain (APTE) in 2022, for the second consecutive year, an award shared with the Scientific and Technological Park of Extremadura (FUNDECYT-PCTEx), for their great involvement and proactivity in all the initiatives led and promoted by the national institution.
The projects that have been promoted by the APTE Technical Network during 2022 and, in which Espaitec has actively collaborated, have been, among others, twinning between associated parks to promote synergies between companies linked to technological ecosystems; contribution to periodic training sessions; presentation of Espaitec's innovative practice; participation in the program Science and Technology in Feminine; participation in the Spanish platform for disruptive technologies disruptive; and B2B meetings between companies linked to the parks or with the managers themselves. It should be noted that Espaitec was also recognized in 2019 as the most active park in the APTE Technician Network.

At the XXI International Conference of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE), held at the Tenerife Science and Technology Park (PCTT), the active role that national science and technology parks must assume to continue providing value has been addressed. to the state innovation ecosystem.
During the event, Juan Antonio Bertolín, the director of Espaitec and manager of the General Foundation of the Universitat Jaume I, presented one of the emblematic projects of the park, aimed mainly at the university community, such as the Espaitec livinglab, the UJI.>LAB, and his FabLab to implement prototypes, initiatives financed by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI).
At the international event, the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the new labor paradigm that is currently being implemented has had special relevance. In this sense, Marta Senent, doctor in Humanities from the UJI, founder and COO of Next AI, presented Adagio, an artificial intelligence software created to help people with functional diversity with problems communicating through speech. This initiative arose in UJI Empren OnSocial, in the social and sustainable entrepreneurship program of the Universitat Jaume I.
Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE)
La Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) is a non-profit association, of which Espaitec has been a part since 2007, whose main objective is to collaborate, through the promotion and dissemination of scientific and technological parks, to the renewal and diversification of productive activity, technological progress and economic development. The headquarters of the entity is located in the Málaga TechPark and was created in 1989 by the managers of the first six parks that emerged in Spain. APTE is an associate member of the International Association of Science and Technology Parks and Innovation Areas (IASP).
APTE has 58 member parks spread throughout Spain, 50 of them are partner parks, that is, fully operational, seven are collaborating parks, and finally, there is one honorary partner. It should be noted that there are 22 parks that are promoted by universities, all of them collaborating intensively with Spanish universities. At the end of 2021, these parks were home to 8.145 companies and institutions that had a turnover of 28.004 million euros. These companies provide employment to 189.039 people, of which 38.223 are dedicated to R&D tasks.
