The objective of the meeting was to discuss the future of innovation spaces in a global context of transformation.

Espaitec has participated in the 42nd World Conference of the International Association of Science Parks and Innovation Areas (IASP), held from September 16 to 19 in Beijing. Organized by Z-ParkThe conference brought together representatives from science parks, innovation areas, and R&D&I-related entities from around the world under the theme "Driving Excellence: Innovation Spaces that Drive High-Quality Development."

The Spanish delegation was composed of members of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) and representatives from several member parks, including Malaga TechPark, La Salle Technova Barcelona, Euskadi Technology Park y La Salle – Ramon Llull University, in addition to Espaitec. These representatives have participated as speakers and moderators in various thematic sessions, providing insights into the Spanish ecosystem in areas such as urban development, digital transformation, innovation districts, and ecosystem governance.

During his participation, the general director of Espaitec, Juan Antonio Bertolin, participated in the panel "Future trends in innovation spaces over the next 20 years," where he addressed the role of European science and technology parks in cross-border collaboration to address the challenges of the coming decades.

Within the framework of the institutional agenda, the delegation visited the R&D center of Huawei in Beijing, where he learned about technological solutions developed in areas such as artificial intelligence, energy efficiency, and smart campuses. He also visited the university's science park. TusPark from Tsinghua University, an international benchmark in innovation, and Changping Science Park, where the company's facilities were shown Roborock, specializing in smart home appliances.
