Espaitec has organized a session aimed at the staff of companies linked to the Park to publicize the bases of an objective system based on OKRs (Objectives & Key Results). The workshop is framed in the cycle Recicla't Espaitec and has been taught by the consultant and trainer specialized in organizational change management under agile principles and co-founder of Agile Nomad, Guillermo Jávega.
OKR
During the session, the speaker explained what the methodology consists of OKR's, an Objectives and Results management system which, due to its characteristics, not only facilitates their achievement, but also does so on a basis of transparency, alignment and accountability. In this sense, Jávega highlighted that “understanding the usefulness and value that working under an OKR system provides is key to its deployment.”
Regarding the advantages of implementing this system in a team, they stand out improve the quality and focus of the company, as OKR helps organizations set clear and specific goals that are aligned with your overall vision and strategy. Additionally, it makes process evaluation easier because, by breaking down objectives into measurable key results, teams can evaluate progress in real time and adjust their approach as necessary. Lastly, it encouragesTransparency and collaboration between teams and departments by setting public objectives and aligning key results with the organization's objectives.
Phases of the OKR's system
To implement the OKR methodology in an organization, it is necessary to begin by defining the main objectives, which must be specific, measurable and achievable, and establishing the key results that will be used to measure progress toward achieving the objectives. Later, they will establish periodic reviews to evaluate progress and finally, the final result will be analyzed through an evaluation to determine how to improve future OKR cycles.
Recicla't Espaitec
The cycle Recicla't Espaitec is an initiative of the Park with the objective of facilitating the expansion and improvement of business skills of companies linked to Espaitec and research groups of the Universitat Jaume I interested in generating future spin-offs. This initiative has the support of the Department of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society of the Generalitat Valenciana.
