During the day, the II PTE Disruptive General Assembly was held, an initiative led by the Association of Technology and Science Parks of Spain (APTE).
podcast has celebrated the day «Present and future of Quantum Computing», framed within the project program «Technological Map of the Province of Castellón» which has the financial support of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI). During the session, the Espaitec Technological Spyglass, that is, the technological observatory of new trends of the Park materialized in the PRISMA newsletter, which includes the different news, publications and patents on quantum computing applied to materials and finance and artificial intelligence applied to water, as well as the FOCUS technology watch report, focused on the topic addressed during the day.
The director of Scientific Dissemination and Citizen Science of the Universitat Jaume I, Lluís Martínez, has inaugurated the day. He was accompanied at the table by the executive vice president of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI), Andrés García Reche, and the president of the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) and the Spanish Technological Platform for Disruptive Technologies (DISRUPTIVE), Felipe Romera, who have valued the knowledge available at the regional and national level.
The first presentation was given by the president of barcelonaqbit-bqb and general coordinator of the Quantum Technologies Group of AMETIC, Alfonso Rubio. In this sense, the speaker has pointed out that, among other actions, to start using quantum technologies in an organization it is necessary to previously create a multidisciplinary team to draft a deployment roadmap as well as review the problems or challenges that can be faced with this type of technology. In addition, he has presented various projects such as Quantum Spain, an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence and financed with the Next Generation funds of the Recovery Plan.
The session continued with a round table where the current applications of quantum computing were analyzed and in which the R&D manager of the Free Software R&D Foundation (FIDESOL), Mariano Caruso; the Iberia Big Data & Security Division, HPC & Quantum Director of Atos Spain, Jose Camacho, and the CEO of Neurogenesis IA Technologies, Agustín de la Luz.
The day concluded with the second round table where the applications and future solutions of quantum computing in Spain were presented, in which the member of the Quantum Technologies Platform of the CSIC and coordinator of the Quantum Computing WG of PTE DISRUPTIVE, Diego Porras; the director of Innovation and Foresight of Fidesol, Francisco Benitez, and Alfonso Rubio.
II PTE Disruptive General Assembly
During the meeting, the II PTE Disruptive General Assembly, initiative led by APT, where the results of the activities developed by the platform in 2021/2022 have been presented. In this sense, the managing director of APTE and technical manager of PTE DISRUPTIVE, Soledad Diaz, has addressed some of the initiatives promoted such as the design of a tool that allows organizing b2b meetings automatically and investigating the possible collaborations created from these sessions.
Furthermore, the R&D consultancy in Infyde Global Consulting SL, Oxana Soimu, has presented the report prepared for the platform on the “Use of disruptive digital technologies among Spanish companies and entities”. Thus, the surveys carried out confirm that there is a high interest on the part of companies in digital technologies, but that an awareness campaign about the importance of disruptive technologies continues to be needed.
