Espaitec, Scientific and Technological Park by Vice-rectorate of Research and Transfer on the coast of the Universitat Jaume I, has placed at the disposal of the health authorities of the Valencian generalitat all equipment of the building FabLab (3D printing equipment, laser carvers, milling machines), for the manufacture of fish for facial screens, masks and automation of manual breathing systems.

From FabLab, the prototyping laboratory of the Jaume I University, is carrying out the performance protocols and also testing the first designs. Open Source (code obert). The next step is waiting to connect the official mechanisms, by the health authorities, and then proceed with the manufacturing and supply of the materials for the fight against COVID-19.

It should be noted that the FabLab, is part of the project UJI.>LAB, which includes Espaitec's innovative projects and has continued to be financed byValencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE).

Espaitec collaborates with Hackerspace in the CoronavirusMakers initiative

Espaitec collaborates with the university association hackerspace, in an innovative initiative, led by the community CoronavirusMakers, at the national level, which pursues the objective of producing protective equipment and materials for health equipment, through 3D printing and design Open Source.

The university association hackerspace, installed in Espaitec, develops technological projects together with activities in the field of electronics, robotics, 3D printing and drones. They also carry out actions related to the dissemination of science and technology, promoting the use of intelligent programming and machinery.

On the other hand, the initiative CoronavirusMakers, is a group of collaborators from all over Spain that has been created to produce protective equipment and materials so that health personnel and other workers who are exposed to COVID-19, should be protected and can carry out their work with greater safety. . els CoronaMakersAs a fan of cridar, they have started manufacturing protective screens designed by professionals who are in direct contact with those infected by the virus.

The project CoronavirusMakers They are there for all the autonomous communities and on, for teams, they are organized to manage the creation and logistics of useful products for health personnel in the face of the coronavirus, which they then distribute to the main hospital centers.

The list of collaborators includes doctors, engineers, designers, student associations, professors or nurses, but also institutions such as schools or companies that have placed their printing machinery at the disposal of this initiative.
