The workshop was given by biotechnologist Rosa Porcel and was addressed to the university community of the Universitat Jaume I.

Espaitec has held a workshop to learn about the health benefits of plants in the personal and work environment. Rosa Porcel, PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, has given the session framed in the cycle Cuida't Espaitec, whose objective is to promote the well-being of workers in the Park's surroundings.

During the talk, Porcel addressed the fundamental role that Facilities Plants have played a significant role in human history, from their role in nutrition to their influence on architecture and emotional well-being. In addition, the benefits that certain plants can provide in interior spaces such as offices were presented. After the presentation, attendees participated in a practical workshop on extracting DNA from plant tissue.

Rosa Porcel She is a renowned researcher with more than 25 years of experience studying plant tolerance to drought and salinity. Her scientific career has been recognized with various awards, including the 2021 Prismas Prize for her popular science book "Eso no estaba en mi libro de Botánica" (That Wasn't in My Botany Book). She also recently received an honorary award from the Spanish Association of Biocompanies (AseBio) for her outreach work.
