Innotransfer Sustainable Habitat is an open innovation initiative coordinated by Espaitec, Parc Científic i Tecnològic of the Universitat Jaume I, within the multi-sector initiative promoted by the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV), with the support of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI)
This morning the third of the three webinars scheduled within the forum took place Innotransfer Sustainable Habitat, where professionals related to sustainable design and architecture have reflected on energy efficiency in homes, and research groups and technological institutes have announced new developments to implement solutions in this field. The vice-rector for Research and Transfer of the Universitat Jaume I, Jesus Lancis, has inaugurated the day together with Andrés García Reche, executive vice president of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI).
Curbstones stressed that «Innotransfer is a much-needed project to bring knowledge closer to the demands of the sector and new opportunities to generate innovation». Garcia Reche has encouraged the participating companies "to make the sustainable habitat projects they have underway to become a reality to turn the construction sector into a fundamental driving force".
The session began with the presentation of Adrian Cano, coordinator of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability area at SGS Lift, who has detailed the synergies in the methodologies BIM y BREEAM , the Innovation challenges in sustainable building certification. He then intervened Arsenio Navarro, responsible for the Construction and Renewable Energy area at AIMPLAS, who has presented the project Efficient Heating, heating system that allows developing sustainable air conditioning solutions; and it also generates a carbon footprint eight times smaller than other heating systems and stands out for a much more competitive final cost.
Then María José Ruá, co-director of the Chair of Circular Architecture at the UJI and group researcher TECASOS (Technology, Quality and Sustainability in Construction) from the same university, has highlighted the importance of promoting energy efficiency in homes; given that Buildings are responsible for more than a third of greenhouse gas emissions. He has also pointed out that To achieve sustainable housing, action must be taken in all phases of the process: the materials used, the construction systems, the buildings and the urban environment.
Next María Gil, Green Project Manager en Mosaic Urban Systems, who has presented the company's project in The Pinada, the first eco-neighborhood in Spain co-created by its future inhabitants. Another of the initiatives that he has presented has been storage with second life batteries, a solution to improve energy efficiency in homes that reduces CO60 emissions by up to 2%.
Finally, Alberto Gutierrez, Smart Offer Developer en Schneider Electric, has presented Wiser, platform that allows devices to be used wirelessly in homes to achieve joint operation and reduce energy consumption.
INNOTRANSFER
Innotransfer is a multi-sector open innovation and collective management initiative which aims to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology, developed by the scientific and technological parks of the Valencian Community, to the business ecosystem of our territory in key economic sectors such as Sustainable Habitat; Agri-food; Sustainable Mobility and Automotive; Enabling Technologies; Health; Infrastructure, and Smart Tourism.
The main business associations, Valencian public universities and network of REDIT Technological Institutes participate in the Innotransfer forum, which is funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI). This initiative aims to promote dialogue between researchers and companies in the Valencian Community through the catalytic action of the intermediate structures of the public-private research ecosystem and the Valencian business ecosystem.
